NFL Draft Talk

It's noted that Cam Skattebo have fumbling issues too...but I love his overall game.
I'm biased toward bowling-ball running backs.
Just like I'm biased toward short running backs. Taller ones tend to have a shorter shelf life (Derrick Henry being a huge exception to that), and the shorter ones get lost behind the offensive line.

I’m a huge Bhayshul Tuten fan, very explode athlete, would give the Pats an explosive RB, can catch the ball too.
How is he in pass protection?

Tuten reminds me of a lighter version of Khalil Herbert. Explosive runner, bad at pass protection and a non-factor as a receiving back. Probably not a fit for what this team is looking for.

Meh. I'm not gonna say 'Ki'jana Carter', because he obviously didn't play against top competition like Carter did, but there is a not a lot of tread left on those tires.

IF he sucks at Blocking pass I prefer others.
That’s why I’m such a fan of Lequint Allen. He doesn’t have the speed of others but is the best blocker in the class, lines out wide at WR and can run the ball up the middle. I just wish he had the speed of some others.

If he’s there at 38, I think Treveyon Henderson will be the pick.

I can't see us taking a RB over a Tackle of WR right there. That said I have seen Henderson and he's a Great Blocker from the position.

Agreed, unless they do actually take the OT at 4. It's been a long-ass time since they took a RB before Day 3 though.

I'm fine with a RB in the Third just not @ 38.

Jeanty is built solid! Are those legs or tree trunks? Glad I don't have to tackle him!

Maye would just be handing off. Looks like Jeanty won't need an Elite OL to Block for him: look like he can create his own holes.

Talking to a friend about Campbell, we decided that we could see a Matt Light like career arc. Won’t sniff Canton but a very successful career and winning player.

May just be a tad underwhelming for fourth pick.

It depends what they do with the 1st round pick. If they take an OT in the first, then I can see a RB like Henderson being taken ahead of a WR. 38 is a good spot for a RB with a 3-down skill set and who excels as a blocker as you mentioned. He'd be the immediate favorite to start ahead of Stevenson and Gibson and has the look of a foundational piece on offense. WR1 for 2025 is set with Diggs in that role, and I think the Pats can afford to kick the can down the road at WR2/long-term WR1 while waiting to see if any of the current youngsters (Polk/Boutte/Baker) can step up. That and there should still be some decent WR fliers in the third round available. That all being said I wouldn't be too surprised if Henderson got taken late in the first round. He has an argument for being the most complete all-around back in the draft, and the Broncos, Steelers, Chargers, Commanders, and Chiefs are all possibilities. If not, the Browns need a RB and they pick first in the second round, and the Raiders a pick before us at 37.

I get it but I think 38 is Kyle Williams - Jaylin Noel - Jack Bech and Tre Harris territory. I want one of those guys to run with Diggs.

I'm guessing the chances are low that we'd trade back up into R1 for a WR like Golden, given that we didn't meet with him for a 30 visit?

He just strikes me as the next guy in a long line of WR that fans could tell would be a baller, yet our front office passed on/wouldn't make a small trade up for... Metcalf, Pickens, Brian Thomas Jr, McConkey... it's every year at this point with us.

Campbell at 4 and Golden at say 24 would be an ideal draft for me, but I get the feeling we'll end up with another R2 WR named Jaylin... given he's the only WR in that range we met with. Hope I'm wrong, but just a feeling.
Dating back to David Terrell am I right

The last 12 #4 picks have Lane Johnson and Sauce Gardner as elite players, and then quite a few good to very good players probably in the Wil Campbell expectation area.

So not sure it's underwhelming for the 4th pick, just not a special year for the 4th pick, but he's probably going to be equivalent or better than the average 4th pick.

I'd prefer a WR with more height than Williams and Noel (both are under 6 ft.) and Diggs is already on the shorter end at 6'0". Bech is a TCU WR, some colleges have a poor track record with prepping WR's for the pros and TCU is one of them (Oregon and Baylor are other examples as well). The next TCU WR that succeeds in the NFL will be the first.

Harris is the one I like most out of that group you mentioned, but he'll be there in the 3rd round most likely.

I hate judging Guys off those things: I think Jack Bech is going to be a very Good Big Slot Receiver. Yeah I know about J Reagor and Q Johnston who's coming around.
