2025 Draft Rumours (ie The Pinch Of Salt Thread)

I’m on the total opposite side of the fence regarding Wilson. This line needs to be upgraded with real talent. Dante is not here anymore to build these guys up into serviceable protectors anymore. You’ll likely never see another QB with Brady’s pocket presence to step and slide as needed either.

I’m all for getting as much help at center as we can and I’m a big proponent in early production, or at least a lot to work with in season 1 and 2 out of players. Right now it’s a pretty crowded room and I’m expecting a lot of dead weight to be cut. Let’s be honest, these aren’t Vrabels guys so the loyalty is going to be in what he sees with his own eyes.

The names you mentioned just aren’t NFL caliber. Ben Brown? Mr unreliable Cole I can’t stay healthy Strange? What has Jake Andrews or Lester Cotton done to sniff a starting job?

Taking the top Center in round 3 is not a bad thing to me but I get why it would depend on who’s available before you took him.

Personally I’m a big fan of Jake Majors out of Texas. I see him as a 5th round option but I’ve seen mocks go as high as the 7th or even ufa in some cases.
Jake Andrews played well in the 2 games he started at guard. He was arguably better than Sow and Robinson but it was only 2 games. Strange played well at guard and in his only game or games at Center, looked better than anyone we've had.

We also have Bradbury.

No one here touted Brown.

This position is the least of my concerns, since we have massive holes at Safety, DE, LT and WR.

Not really. Look at the hit rate for some of these positions. WR and CB in the top 10? They've been money for a decade.

DE is 50%.

LT much less.
We’re only drafting from this class. Name a certainty at 4 outside of Carter and Hunter that provide positional and roster value and is a certainty.

First, I would say Carter isn't a certainty. But if you want value, McMillan's #s track with top 10 receivers of the past few years. I'm not saying he's worth #4, but when it comes to those #s, you have a much greater chance at WR and CB than you do at LT and DE.

We have a stellar track record at drafting WRs lol

So we should play without drafted WRs.

Hunter, BTW, wants to play WR.

You dont want to draft him?

Where would you draft a LT then? I’d rather get one of the better ones at 4 than a worse in the back end of the first in which I have to give up additional draft capital.

I would draft multiple LTs in this draft but not at #4. If they could come away with Simmons/Conerly and Trapilo/Grant, I would do that.

Well he also put terrible play out there for evidence, as if any more was needed. I dont think Marrone and Vrabel are going to come in and buy into the same ******** Wolf and Co thought last year.
I agree. And Vrabel ran the press conference for the draft, not Wolf, so hopefully Wolf and Groh are gone in a few weeks.

That means you’re effectively giving up three picks to solve the LT position with lower grades LTs (Simmons excepted although he has other issues). I’d rather take one at 4 and use those three picks on other needs. Even if Campbell or Membou need switching to LG and RT respectively, at least we’ve upgraded those positions with the best prospects available. We can then return to LT next year but with a significantly upgraded OL.

Of course we take Hunter. But after him it's a significant drop off. I'll take Tre Harris or Higgins at 38.

I'll take Obtuse as an UDFA.

I have a lot more confidence in one of the 2 lowers working than the guy at #4

McMillan's metrics are in range of the top guys who went dating back to 2017. They ALL panned out. Just because he's not Hunter doesn't mean he's not like the other guys

You’re one of very few. Nate Tice’s Dad springs to mind but not many others have Conerly ahead of Campbell and Membou. For example, Will Campbell is Dane Brugler’s 6th best player overall which means he isn’t a reach at 4. He’s 10th on Jeremiah’s board but has two TEs, a QB and a RB ahead of him. There are plenty of people who like Campbell.

Yeah even with the criticism, Tice says he thinks he can play tackle.

Jeremiah says tackle. Kiper says tackle. McShay says tackle. Kyle Crabbs says tackle. These are just media guys but still. The consensus is clearly tackle. And I'd say if he goes 4th, that means Vrabel and Marrone say tackle.

I didn't say I have more confidence in Conerly than Campbell.

I said more confidence that 1 of the 2 (Simmons and Conerly) than Campbell.

Again give me Mike Green. The most productive edge rusher.

Simmons is very good. He also has a significant knee injury with no certain timeline for recovery.
