"Not Worth The 4th Pick"

I don’t get the NHL reference firstly.

You know why I mentioned Thuney and Mankins, I was quite explicit about the context.

Plenty of people itk still rank Campbell as the top OL in this draft including Dane Brugler. Campbell is going to be a better LT than Vedarian Lowe so even if he’s a stop gap until next year when he switches to LG and becomes a pro-bowl level one, we’re still in plus territory.

I note you didn’t answer the question about what happens if Membou can’t switch. At least in my scenario, we’ve upgraded at LT with someone we actually know can play the position.
manman have you seen how that guy moves?? IF Membou can't make the switch that will be up there with the impossible. I remember Bruce Armstrong that's who Membou reminds me of...started out as a very good RT and made the switch to LT.

Membou plays RT at a high level and we find a LT in 2026. Trying to fill all the holes at once leads to bad decisions. It is a weak tackle class so we take the best tackle, even if it is a RT.

I think that is a pretty bad approach for #4 in the draft. It is a weak draft, but I think we should look for more than an upgrade at #4.
1. So you'll stash Membou or switch Moses to LT?

2. Those players don't exist, at least not without question marks. Can Membou switch? Is Walker a tweener? What is Jeanty and Warren's positional value? etc.

3. Out of interest, and I'm asking genuinely and not trying to troll, as the BPA guy in this forum, why are you repping Membou and not Jeanty or Graham? Are you not as keen on them as you are Membou, or do other factors like roster and positional value play into what you think of by BPA?

Ultimately the reason I went with Campbell is that I don't like the idea of trading up from the second to, hopefully, nab Conerly and as much as I like Membou, I just think Campbell is the safer pick.

I like Membou as I stated in the original post that got this debate started but Campbell moves well too.

There are three blue chippers in this draft, not just two. Gotta add the Boise State RB.

If as seems likely that both Carter and Hunter are gone, can we go to a team a few picks later on like the Raiders and say we’re taking the RB. But we’re open to a trade.

We should be doing our due diligence to trade back and get another second-rounder.

We should certainly try and bring Jeanty in for a visit just to try and scare other teams.

Try Membou at LT, I think he will make the switch. Worse case, yes, Moses would have to switch for a year or sign T Smith - injuries will happen. Most likely Smith and Moses will not last a whole year at thier ages.

Can Membou switch? If not, that only means he is a long term RT. That is not as bad as the downside for everyone else.
3. Out of interest, and I'm asking genuinely and not trying to troll,
You are a very nice and genuine person, everyone knows you would never troll. No need to say that.

If you read two posts back I said if you are not going to take BPA, Jeanty or Graham. I said exactly that about two posts ago, about three hours ago. I prefer Graham over Campbell and Membou, but if we could trade down for another 2nd (I know unlikely) then move back up so we have two middle 1st round picks, I think that is preferred with this draft class.

#4 is not about being safe, IMO. There is a 20 man professional scouting staff, the Pats should know who is the future All Pro and that is the guy we should pick. If the management team swings and misses, change the management. Can't get conservative or miss at #4.

Will Campbell.
