It's easy, and only takes a few moments. What if the Patriots decided to select Jalon Walker the linebacker from Georgia at pick #4? Quite a few draft sites have the Pats taking this guy. I've watched his highlight videos and he looks so unimpressive to me. Constantly over running plays, not so agile and not overly quick. I would not be happy at all.
I love Walker obviously, but in most drafts he’s late teens to mid twenties selection. No thanks. If they were picking in the 20’s it might make sense, but not before then.
I would Trade the Strong Edge Class. If Carter falls to us at 4# (of which there is a good chance) do we trade down. I'm sure there would be lots of suitors for him. Is a DE, no matter how good, a priority for NE in the first round?
Hunter have a little Brother that's really good too Athletic Family. There ARE some legit questions about Carter. Is he big enough to withstand the demands of the game. His lack of experience at the position, and his age (which can also be thought of as plus). But in my opinion he would be the IDEAL pick.
FIrst he plays a position of extreme need. We had a HORRIBLE edge rush last year, and though Landry is an improvement, he isn't the solution.
Second he plays a position where rookies can make an instant impact. Like RB and LB great physicality can show immediately and it takes less time for a player to reach his true potential unlike, say, QB, WR or the DL. Of course, he edge players improve over time too, but Carter would be a player where we would see an instant impact on what could end up being a pretty damned good defense.
I'd be fine with Graham, but with the additions on the DL plus a likely return of Baremore he would be strictly a best player available pick. I'd also be fine with Hunter, who is more likely to be there. He'd make the secondary positively scary with Gonsalez. Davis, and himself out there. The schemes he would allow the DC to create would be awesome. And forget about the offensive possibilities even if they are limited. Or the reverse and he becomes a fulltime WR doing limited work as a DB in certain schemes. He simply is the most dynamic player in the draft. The art and skill will be how to use him most effectively to have a long productive career.
It’s really just as likely as him not being there. 1-ward. 2- sanders 3- hunter. giants (they don’t need de). Nobody knows what browns or giants are doing except browns and giants. This scenario is kind of not that unlikely. If the browns truly love sanders, you think they’re gonna be all over the world telling everyone how much they love him, so titans can take him or trade pick to someone else who wants him. Everything everyone says is bsHow the **** is Carter falling to the Pats? Seriously people....
Definitely possible Browns take Hunter at 2This may be the real issue. As we draw closer to Draft Day, Ward and Hunter seem locked at 1 and 3.

I think it very risky to draft Carter and hope that we are able to use 2 or 3 picks to move up and get a good starting LT.
Hunter would clearly make a big difference in our success of our roster. It is not at all clear that Carter would have anywhere near the same effect.
Any chance if Giants pass on Sanders and Browns took Hunter, do the browns have enough assets to trade for 4 to get Sanders to match with Hunter?Definitely possible Browns take Hunter at 2
That's what the latest reports are predicting, then Carter at #3.Definitely possible Browns take Hunter at 2
Mayo could've called run plays to just get the game over with, but he probably didn't because he already knew he was getting fired. He wanted to pad his stats and go out with a win which was why he was so aggressive on both sides of the ball. The plot twist would be if Milton audibled out of plays and chucked balls downfield.Mayo coukd have made sure we lost that last game. Run 90% of the time, vanilla defense.
Was it worth it to prop up Milton and Van Pelt both who are gone?
Bills were smart. Made us lose out on Hunter and extra picks.
Will never forget what Mayo did to this team

Regarding the Bills, I don't think they intentionally tried to lose so the Pats miss out. Their starters aren't even that good to begin with who are carried by Allen and McDermott.
Titans take Ward, Browns take Sanders, Giants take Hunter would leave Carter at #4.How the **** is Carter falling to the Pats? Seriously people....
I agree. He is no Lawrence Taylor; I never saw him run over a tackle. In the highlights I saw of him, he had clear paths to the QB....he will not get that in the NFL. But please keep the hype on him going so that the Patriots can get a boatload of picks for him when they trade down.Man, Carter might be the most overrated top 3 overall DE I've seen. Sure, he's amazingly athletic.
But he is not beefy enough to set the edge in the NFL, and he feasts on slow college Tackles by his one speed rush around the edge.
But after NFL QB's step up in the pocket and he whiffs around the back (a la Winovich) every snap, what do you have?
An nice cover WLB. Great, but is that a #4 value?
