Sounds like something Brady would have said in his rookie season.....goodbye bazooka...Vrabel thinks your not worth a camp tryout..kick rocks.

The more I hear about this the clearer it becomes that he was going to become a problem. Their back ups need to be helping Maye, not a problem in the QB room. Mac the Joke wasn’t able to handle that responsibility.

True, but Bledsoe was an established veteran at QB, so bringing in someone to challenge him can work. Maye is just starting out, so give him help for a couple of seasons, then bring in a kid to push him.

Well, Drake better stop giving the ball away.
Danny Dimes showed promise, he turned out to be a fkn reject.
Drake needs to be better.

So Maye is anointed Starter no matter how he plays. Got it. Now that's a reason I can understand Vrabel would honor. Me, I don't care if a cripple starts at qb for NE if he can make this offense go and Win now. Fairness. Camp don't lie... No Zappe world again...

Here’s the reality and not the dream

He’s a sixth round draft pick. Yeah I know he could be Brady, he could be Tyrod Taylor, Derek Anderson or another one of the mediocre non needle movers Ron that position. He could also be

Josh Booty, Josh Heupel, J.T. O’Sullivan, Steve Bellisari, Drew Henson, Brooks Bollinger, Kliff Kingsbury, Josh Harris, Jim Sorgi, Jeff Smoker, Reggie McNeal, Bruce Gradkowski, Jordan Palmer, Colt Brennan, Andre Woodson, Tom Brandstater, Mike Teel, Keith Null, Curtis Painter, Rusty Smith, Dan LeFevour, Tony Pike, Ryan Lindley, Zach Mettenberger, David Fales, Keith Wenning, Tajh Boyd, Garrett Gilbert, Nate Sudfeld, Jake Rudock, Brandon Allen, Jeff Driskel, Brad Kaaya, Luke Falk, Tanner Lee.

Tom Brady was never brought in to challenge Drew Bledsoe. This is revisionist history. Tom was a 4th stringer behind John Friesz and Michael Bishop. He was brought in for depth as a gamble because Friesz and Bishop had their own issues. Brady had an "it" factor and was wired differently. The kid would not quit and he was #2 by the end of his rookie year. But that's not really saying a lot because he beat out Friesz and Bishop. He was still just the backup in 2001 when fate hit, but he was never thought of a challenge to the $103 million dollar Bledsoe who had the largest contract in NFL history up until the point when Brady started winning.

That would pot'lly means he disobeyed Mayo
You saying Mayo wanted him to be a good soldier and tank the game? When there was so much discussion about Mayo already knowing he was gone and not tanking as revenge?

There’s more to the story than this. What he did week 18 is your answer. Had he done this earlier in the season, he stays.
He didn’t have the opportunity to do it earlier in the season. Heck, Mayo wasn’t even going to give Drake Maye the chance to play until Brisket showed so clearly he’s far beyond his best use by date.

Then when Maye was playing Milton was still stuck behind Brissett even after Brissett had shown he wasn’t up to the job of playing QB for the Pats. No wonder Milton was frustrated and went off when given his chance in the last game of the year.

And that background made him sure he would not get a fair chance to prove himself this year either. That may be the best thing for the team, but doesn’t help him. So of course he shot his way out of town.

Should be no surprise, it was thoroughly discussed on this board at the time.
Just because it's discussed on this board doesn't make it reality.

Not too mention it's f stupid discussion

We dont know If Mayo would stay, win or lose

It's impossible to know what Mayo had in mind. Tanking and hurting his "integrity" (to some folks it matter), just to get in the hottest seat again? uff. Play good soldier and have like everybody hating you for a whole offseason and 4 games in-season at best?

Also, we couldnt control the Bills who were TANKING. They WERE trying to lose just to **** with us. Stop.

Let it go.

Yep. It's ridiculousness at it's finest.

If BB had listened to the consensus on this board who to draft 2019-2024, Pats would be competing for a Super Bowl this year.
Lamar Jackson would be our qb and Mcconkey would be our WR1 and our shut down CB would be trent mcduffie
I will not even list all the losers that we would not have drafted
Even a casual fan would have done much better than the genius
We would also have George Kittle and AJ Brown instead of AsiAsi and Nkeal Harry
If BB had listened we would have McConkey?

Agreed. However the difference is Mahomes doesn't strike me as the type of guy who's playing into his late 30s and Reed likely isn't coaching into his mid 70s.. also Mahomes got married in his 20s Brady didn't get married until his 30s.. as we know happy wife happy life.. to your point we were absolutely spoiled with greatness from a legendary Coach and legendary QB.

I'll say this Vrabel has something in him that can get us back into a contender.. he mentioned in his interview how badly he missed coaching and how passionate about it he is.. he will push Drake and exude every ounce of talent that Drake has.
I can't wait to play Baltimore to see this beef with Lamar I keep hearing about

At the time of the draft pick almost everone on this board was saying pick Lamar and pick Mcconkey

You know that is true. It was true in real time.

But the football genuses say the fans know nothing
Brady was the QB, they were playing for rings… Tom literally took less money so the franchise could put every resource towards winning rings…. and you think he would be cool with them drafting a QB in the first round? Sounds legit…

Also Lamar Jackson has sucked in the playoffs, been the direct reason his teams have lost… so making the playoffs and losing is your barometer for good thank cheebus nobody was listening.
