i've been thinking the same thing, then i thought how kc shutdown saquon, then i thought it didn't hurt the iggles, then i thought.....i don't know....this is going to be a long 3 weeks.
Well, they shut him down but it left the passing game pretty open.

In 2023, Jeanty caught 44-of-48 targets for 578 yards and five touchdowns, with zero drops. The most receiving yards of any running back in the nation. He's also a great blocking RB so would help Drake out on many levels if drafted.

Doubt we will actually take him though.

I don’t see us taking a RB at 4 with a glaring hole at LT
I hear the but we’ll just trade back into the first round to take a LT
Or pick this guy ir that guy in the second round
Easier said than done
There is always a run for LT’s and this year will be no different
There may be no one that wants to totally move out of the first or trash left in the second round
We cannot go into the season with a stiff at LT and get Maye killed or at least under pressure all the time

We should have thought of this before April

But we can't use that as a reason to make other mistakes. I'm not saying go Jeanty (and I'm not saying don't) but the same problem is there if Carter or Hunter is our pick.

Not sure if he goes in the first, but I wouldn’t be mad at it. He’s a beast with special traits including his size. I could easily see a team like GB, SEA, LV or dare I say BAL selecting him rather early. What’s funny is, he’s such a GB type of pick based off of history; could Wolf share the same sentiments?…If he happens to slide into the second/third, I’d be ecstatic with Higgins here in NE.

I am just assuming Carter and Hunter are gone
But I could be wrong and the Browns or Giants reach for Sanders

Man, if Kentucky’s DT Deone Walker & Oregon’s DT Jamaree Caldwell can hold up against stronger O-lineman in the league & clean up their run defense technique, oh boy. There are a few NT sized players who can get in the backfield in a jiffy like 3Ts. I’m sure both coach Vrabel & Williams are licking their chops.

Unfortunately every report I hear and read on Walker is that he played like a dog this season. The people I listen to said he was one of their biggest disappointment’s this year. I love 350 lb defensive tackles, but they have to play like their hair is on fire. Big and lazy doesn’t cut it,

Jeanty or Warren will be offensive BPA available at 4. If you support BPA they should take one of them BUT LT is key on EVERY play. So could make argument that LT is most valuable position other than qb and therefore you take best LT at 4.
I could make a case eithrr wsy.
Usually easier to find a rb or TE elsewhere unlike LT

If true, I wonder how he’d respond to Williams/Vrabel’s tough coaching. If he can accept constructive criticism, focus & be disciplined that’s a behemoth who can create interior pressure on our DL.

A big if, but a big payoff potential. I agree.

I am not sure about Warren at #4, but Jeanty is a fair comment. This assumes that Carter and Hunter are gone - otherwise they are BPA. BPA is not specific to offense or defense, so the BPA at #4 might be Graham.

Trading up or down changes the BPA dynamic. The offensive option is Jeanty OR a LT OR a trade. You did not mention a trade which a lot of posters have recommended. For example after a trade down to #9 or #12, the Pats might add an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder, and then the BPA might align with a LT who is available. So the whole situation is fluid, not static like Jeanty, Warren, or a LT.

I just don’t trust players like that. If someone else has to motivate them at that level I don’t think they are worth investing the time in. I would just look for a big body that’s highly motivated.

Willie Lampkin is a 5’10 270 lb offensive lineman from UNC, and the reports out of the Senior Bowl were that he was stonewalling Walker during practice sessions. That shouldn’t happen.

Fair enough.

I like Deone Walker. I know he didn't have a good Senior Bowl. But, with his size, strength, and overall athletic ability, if the coaching staff can get him to reach his potential (he doesn't have to make an impact in his rookie season), he could be an absolute steal! And, he'll be one of those players in the 3rd or 4th Rounds that I always want them to draft, but they pass on and said player becomes solid to awesome. Happens every draft for the last 25 years with this team.

I haven't been thrilled with the idea of taking a LT at #4 since none of the OT in this class are worthy of it.

But the more I look at the draft class itself and outside of Carter and Hunter no one is worth it.

If a trade offer to move down happens I think that's the best bet, but if not take guy who has the best chance of being a starting LT

I tend to agree with you. Drake Maye being upright is critical.

Unfortunately because we failed to address LT last season, and then Ronnie Stanley & the rest weren't actually available this season, we've put ourselves in a corner where we have to go O line at the expense of a blue chip stud like Jeanty, which is poor management - if Campbell gets moved to guard and Jeanty is All-Pro... well you can imagine.

Ideally, we could trade up for a LT but it's difficult because there are many teams with the same plan. Every teams forum has the same idea - "we can trade back into R1 for player X". Normally only 1 or 2 teams can manage it if they're lucky.
