2025 Draft Strategy

That'd be fantastic.

But it has no chance at happening. We'd have to throw in #38 along with Milton for them to even consider that trade.
Then no but I feel like we are in a good position not having to address WR at least.

Last nights signings do make things a little more interesting now.

The Geno signing does suggest the Giants might think Sanders is going to the Browns but at the same time doesn't preclude them from taking Sanders if he falls to 3.

The Diggs signing makes WR less of an urgent (must take with our first pick) need.

So we're looking like Carter and Hunter are likely there at 4. While I would still take either, after all, if you're picking at 4 you want a blue chip prospect. However the trade down is more on the cards now. I wouldn't trade down out of either Carter or Hunter unless we got a very good haul - I'd want more than just a 2nd rounder and would ideally prefer a future first.

I do think Membou and Campbell are back on the menu after a trade down, as is Tet and Golden. Banks now becomes a factor too. And that also leaves open the possibility of trading up for Jayden Higgins as, at the very least in this scenario, we'd have, an additional 2nd rounder. Could we be looking at?

Trade back to 8 or 9 (pick up a 2nd rounder and future 1st)

8/9 - Kelvin Banks (or Membou/Campbell)

28 (trade up with 3rd) - Jayden Higgins

40 - ?

40 becomes a bit of a luxury pick here. A pass rusher? RB? An athletic CB like Revel or Porter? Mason Taylor? How about the best FS in the draft in Xavier Watts.

69 - Trapilo. It would allow Wallace to try out at guard.

So I just want to say this. I don't think it will happen, nor do I necessarily want it to happen given our needs but...I would love Jahdae Barron on this roster. We would have an elite secondary if that was to happen. Outstanding versatile DB.

I'm trying to think from the Browns/Giants perspective and with Russ going to NY they aren't as inclined to take Shadeur. Browns need a QB but would probably prefer to have insurance. If they can have both by trading for Joe Milton that would seem like a win? Worst case they end up with Joe Milton and Travis Hunter since they will know we are trading up for Carter.

That would be quite something, but the need on the OL is just too big and too evident.

Either way, the Patriots are in a very good position to either select one of the blue chip prospects in the draft or get an haul. If they can get a 2026 first in a trade back scenario, i think they do it.

If trading out of the top 10 the starting point should be a 2026 1st when talking about 4th overall

The next place I'd be shopping Joe Milton to is Pittsburgh obviously. If we can get pick 21 for Milton and pick 38 that should get us Josh Simmons.

I think you’d probably have to throw in a 4th too.

Maybe but the point being we don't have to give up as much with Milton as a trading chip for QB needy teams.
So much for that lol

IF S Sanders goes Two or Three it's like We have the #1 pick. I would entertain Trading the pick if a 2026 First is Included. Offensive Tackle is our #1 NEED!

I wouldn't do it for Hunter - just take the best WR in the draft. I'd consider a trade down for Carter but would have to be blown away by the offer.
