Caedan Wallace?

Got a feeling he will be either a swing or our LT depending how the draft and camp works out. Way too early to call him a bust though. Dudes need a few seasons to just get use to the nfl. I know we all want results fast though….Would be nice if Marrone is 1/10th the coach scar was….
Scar was an old school coach spanning dam near 4 decades .. he knew how to light a fire under guys asses. Marrone is a good coach and OL is his specialty. Scar made bad news Brown an all pro at LT, and got him 60 million in FA.

Unlike the volunteers we had as coaches last season guys stand to be much better coached all around.

lol I knew you, @Real fan 02 would chime in intelligently as always. . Yea I have a good feeling about just about all the coaching changes this year. Then again, things couldn’t get much worse could they? :O

PBP.. you know you always put up the good stuff on the forum so I definitely had to chime in to my guy!

My twin PatsFan2.. would agree. We are inviting you to the family ...

But yes.. as more information came out about last season it was worse than what we saw/heard.. mayo and Glaser had bad blood... coaches in-fighting with each other.. guys like Godchaux belittling other players.. instead of being a real leader.

Vrabel isn't going to allow any nonsense from anyone on his staff or his players.

lol @Real fan 02 & @PatsFan2 I do at times get confused between the two of you. . Honestly this is the first time I’ve heard about bad blood with glaser and mayo. If you can point a fellow to some tidbits regarding the drama, it would be greatly appreciated! If not….well I’ll still appreciate ya! I was thinking if there was in fact drama with glaser it would’ve been something else, /w wolf etc. Then again, who knows….ive seen/been involved in a bit of office drama/politicking but cannot imagine what it’s like at that level….with social media making things 10000 times worse on top if it…

So from what I'm reading here, the Pats hit rate with Day Two and Day Three OL talent is about average for the league.

Outside of Lowe, Peterson's system hurt the development of all the young players. Also, the notion that rookie offensive linemen should be immediate starters is ridiculous. I would be my money the two of Strong, Robinson, Wallace, and Sow become good starters this year.

PBP- yes alot of people have us confused at times . LoL.. but yes alot of this info came out after both Mayo and Glaser herself left the organization. Here's a little Intel on things!

Perhaps he will benefit from the new coaches tutelage

I had hope that Wallace would be able to play LT but he did not play well there and then got injured. I think he will be a fine backup at RT (a position better suited for him) in 2025.

Who’s Strong?

Who’s Strong?
Some call me?

I don't think we would have signed Moses if they had faith in Caedan Wallace.
You put ZERO thought into that. In fact. Your statement shows you aren't bothering to pay attention to what actually happens during the season. You just spew garbage in a pathetic attempt to make yourself look relevant.

They need 4 OTs at a minimum. Since you didn't actually pay attention to last season, Wallace took less than 100 snaps, combined, at OT because of the garbage coaching. Claiming that Vrabel has no faith in Wallace when they have no idea what they have in him shows your ineptness in regards to the game in general.

Signing Moses was about bringing in a Vet presence at the OT position. Something the Pats didn't have last season. Moses is there to help Wallace, Lowe and the ACTUAL WORST OT in the league in Jacobs.

Everyone but YOU seems to understand that the Pats needed a Swing Tackle better than Jacobs on the team.

My customary DB Scoulding you know how I get off on that.

He got hurt his second start as a rookie and didn't return until the last two games of the season. Can't really project much from that.

I just read a blurb that was trying to describe just how BAD the Pats OL was. It mentioned he was sacked 10% of his drop backs and hurried 20% of the time.

It occurred to me that that meant that he WASN'T sacked 90% of the time and not hurried EIGHTY percent of the time. Imagine if you had that kind of success rate at the plate in baseball or a shooting percentage in BBall. Just trying to put some perspective, when we call players bums who win 80% of the time

I'm NOT trying to say that we don't need to improve the OL, but to add some perspective to the thought that it's all about changing the players is the ONLY way to improve. I would opine that better coaching, offensive schemes, or better QB/receiver play and better mental discipline is all that needed to move the needle so we are at the 85% level of non-hurries and 5% level of sacks. Those are the kind of stats that decent OL's get to.

We've had a LOT of very successful offensive linemen who were not even red chippers who had successful careers because the maxed out their ability and where in a good system with good coaches.

Let's face it. There just aren't any blue-chip OT's in this draft, so why agonize about it. I'll be happy to see us get one guy who improves the athletic talent at LT and begins to develop that talent. Remember the kid the eagles got from NZ, didn't see much of the field until his THIRD year. Draft and DEVELOP. To do that you need skill and continuity. 2 things we don't have.... yet.

I think those stats are misleading: what were we ranked as a Offense 31st - 32nd?? Our OL was like a sieve especially at the Tackle spots. When we played Bad Teams they looked ok: when we played Good team they were pretty bad.

I agree with OP that there isn't enough of a track record to pass judgement on him. That means pass judgement good or bad. I don't think anyone is saying to give up entirely on him and release him off the roster. But to the OP's point there's not enough to judge him favorably yet and rely on him. It's not like he was some stud prospect that anyone should have been super confident in projecting as a starter to begin with. Bring him to camp and let him fight for a role. I don't discount the idea that he could emerge as a long term starter for us, I'm simply not building my team with the expectation that he does.

Him at Guard with Burger Boy Michael Onwenu would make a Fat and Stout OL up the Middle Hmmmmm.
???? - Wallace - Strange - Onwenu - Moses.
