Stefon Diggs visiting Patriots

Can I?
Yes.
Do I see any value in it?
No

I see value in it, lol

Does it look like it ?

After 1,183 yards and 8 scores with Buffalo in 2024, he’s the prize of a thinning free agency pool. Where’s he headed next?
Yeah good catch, I’m not paying Diggs, nor Aiyuk anywhere near 25 mill personally,
That’s AJ Brown, Jameson Williams, money to me.

Odell Beckham coming off a bad knee injury, he missed the 2022 season... in 2023 he picked up a 1 year 16 million dollar contract from Baltimore... he was 31... didn't do very well... but he was kinda on a downward spiral since 2020...
Hmm. Good point.

Chase is getting $40m AAV.

$25m is now just upper-class.

Crazy

They have the money
They are desperate.
On a 2 year deal they should do it.
This is the price you have to pay for terrible drafting and roster management.
Does Wolf always have to be the smartest guy in the room???
There is considerable upside to Diggs. If he sucks...OK he sucks for a year or two..not the end of the world.

I do not care about getting the trophy for the most financially prudent deals. Want to see an exciting offense.

I’d give him a deal that was up to $25M if he hit all of his incentives, because that’d mean he actually got healthy and played as a WR1. In reality I doubt the report has any merit.

What gave it away for you? The absence of any diss in the supposed diss being 'reported'? The use of Diggs' 2023 stats as his 2024 stats? Reporting him playing for the wrong team last year? Attributing contract numbers to ESPN that they never reported? Or was it this gem:
"He’s not slowing down at 31; he’s just picky" without so much as a mention anywhere in the (ahem) "piece" of Diggs still rehabbing a serious knee injury?

It was probably an AI output. “ChatGPT write me an article about Diggs wanting more money”

Maybe that new cutting edge Afghan AI?

You seem to forget the JuJu Smith Schuster deal. That was being desperate and giving a ton of money to a player who was not fully rehabbed with a serious knee injury. Absolutely a terrible deal

Serious question

If we offered him 25M, all incentive ladden

Who says no? Who are ""we"" helping by not being spenders on the market, even if it's obsecene? Its the Market who can't keep up with our capital
Look at me and Diggs almost agreeing on ****

Not sure if I was clear, but what I meant was that Branch returns for his last season in 2006 and then the Pats let him walk which would've opened the door for Welker, Stallworth and then Moss.

Does anyone else remember the Ravens were 13-3 that year and the #2 seed? I had to look back and refresh my memory. They were 10-2 in the AFC so the Pats would've had to go 14-2 to get the #2 seed at worst. The Ravens were one of those teams with a fraudulent record that nobody took seriously and lost they first playoff game. Colts would've gone to SD in the 2nd round and Pats would've played the dreaded Ravens.

I don't follow the Celtics much, but I've heard from you guys on the board that Brown and even Tatum were taking a lot of heat.
Rain,
Was that the 2006 season? I think that's it right?? Jamal Lewis at RB? 13-3.. ?

And hasn't been even half the player he was since the Pittsburgh days.

It was. Nobody really paid attention to the Ravens as McNair had been cooked for a while and Lewis was slowing down. 13-3 just seemed hard to believe. I remember the only teams I was worried about were the Chargers and Colts.

Ok! I mean yeah.. that season I believe brady showed the NFL he could elevate anyone he played with. Mcnair yes, he left Tennessee because they drafted Vince young? Colts offense was just so surgical. Had the Chargers had a better HC they win the superbowl at least 2x during that span.. dam that roster was loaded. From Doug garbriel, jabaar gaffney, reche Caldwell and and aging Troy Brown.. probably worse than the 2003 offense.

I don't think he'll get $25M anywhere else at this point. If someone wanted him that badly he'd have signed by now.
I think $20M is reasonable for a one year deal. We have the extra cap $ and there's no more high prized FA's available that we'll miss out on because we ran out of cap space. We can sign Diggs and still pay, say a Jedrick Wills, trade for a WR (G. Wilson, though that's not happening) and extend him as well or trade for Aiyuk. Both could be had. Both have injury concerns so we're only getting one or the other. The money is there. $5M is a big difference and I'm not sure the Pats will budge. But I just want a good WR at this point, even a 32 year old, (I'll even take Lockett) in case we go OL/DL/Edge with the first pick and miss out on Hunter or Tet. We can still get one with our 2nd pick but it may not be a plug and play guy.
Let's see how this plays out. Still a long way until training camp.
