Lockett's numbers have gradually dipped across the board the last two seasons and you can't blame it on health (he's only sat for 3 games his whole career). Success rate particularly. Not the player he used to be (which was a high end NFL WR2 at his peak). I'd pass unless they plan to pair him with a better WR afterward. If 2020 Damiere Byrd does it for you then I guess Lockett is for you.

sign everyone in the whole wide world................

At this point in his career I don't know if Lockett is much of an upgrade over Bourne or Douglas. He is definitely on the back 9 of his career.

Gross Father time @ 33 hell No!!
He’s not a long term solution. The question is, at 33 years old, is he a short-term stopgap solution while we try to find a longer term solution?

He’s not the player he once was, but is he better than what we have? Moving from dumpster fire to mediocre is still an improvement, as long as it’s a contract we can get out of easily if needed and as long as we’re still looking for long-term solutions. I guess this is similar to how I feel about Garrett Bradbury.

He's an upgrade over Bourne: I'm an upgrade over the overrated Bourne. Somebody cut that guy already.

Again No I prefer others.

If this is instead of pursuing a trade for Aiyuk or getting Diggs when healthy, I don't like it. If this is in addition to those, ok, sign me up.

Once again kraft super cheap. Patriots trying to find value at WR by dumpster diving

Lockett is completely washed up. What are we doing?

Poor Drake Maye

Anyone watch him last year? Is the 600 yards due to them having metcalf and the emergence of jsn last year or has he hit a cliff?

Personally think we need something better

More like a heck of a lot younger.

We holding out hope for Diggs and Aiyuk... Ray.

Ill take anything right now tbh, but if its an older guy they should at least be more productive than douglas and boutte were last year

Let's play the 'what if' game... Let's say they move Onwenu back to the left side so they can sign a RG.

Now lets assume they sign Brandon Scherff (the best OG left on the marker) at 5-6M/year
Let's also assume they sign OT Tyron Smith at 7.5M/year

Keep in mind these are likely the 2 best and most expensive players at their position left on the market. Let's say it cost them 14M to sign both. (it won't for year 1... but let's say it does).. they still have about 26M to play with before they need to worry about eating into the emergency fund or draft pick money...

What else do they plan to spend it on if they sign Locket for his estimated 8m this year? That would leave them 18M more to spend... on what exactly? What is left to spend on? What spot is more important... They could always use more help on the DL of course... but who specifically would cost that much that would be better than bringing Cooper or Diggs here? I don't see it.

I think from a positional alignment/route tree perspective, he'd add some stuff our WR room currently lacks. At this stage of his career, he won't really do much to address the overall lack of ability in the room. But if you're going to lack overall ability in the WR room, at least have the placeholder pieces to run a full offense.
