I saw a post on Reddit from a Bills fan that said Digg set the culture at the Bills when he arrived. He was a perfectionist and really demanding of Josh Allen, would make the offense practise routes over and over until they got it down.

The problems, or "diva behaviour" started when Josh Allen became a star and was less inclined to be led by Diggs. Diggs complained about him not being commited and being half assed about preparation and distracted by his girlfriend and their relationship broke down from there, to the point where Allen wouldn't pass to him if he could avoid it.

Dude if that's true sign his ass immediately.

In terms of being meticulous about routes, footwork, etc no question.

If he got in Tom's grill about targets.......I don't think that would go over well. Rumor is when Moss did that Tom told him, "You'll get the ball when you get the ball.".

If the rumor is true then I actually kinda understand him being upset with the lack of targets. If he was legitimately open and he was the best option on a play but Allen was avoiding him to be petty then that's messed up. All for it to always culminate in the annual loss in the playoffs to the Chiefs.

Obviously that’s just a Reddit rumor, but it is a good explanation for what happened in Buffalo, why the Texans seemed to love him last year, and why Vrabel’s interested in him here. Sounds like a guy who would have thrived with Brady.

Texans loved him last year for the same reason Bills loved him at the beginning. He is extremely productive when he gets his way and is happy.

There is no way it's ok for a player to question another players's personal life choices like that if the rumour is true of course. When a player flames out in 1 team, you can blame the team. In 2? That's a trend

If we sign him, he will work really well at the beginning. But sooner or later, he will become unhappy. We just need to be ok with that and move on when that happens.

For what it's worth, I have confirmation on the 'Josh Allen's a diva' angle with the Diggs stuff.

This was my observation from his time in Buffalo. I don't know about the specific details, but you could tell Diggs was getting tired of their playoff failures. It was either against the Bengals or Chiefs were he was noticeably upset after the game because they lost yet again. Defenses loaded up on Diggs and the Bills lack of supporting cast continually showed up. It was only one game where Gabriel Davis went off where they lost to KC. Other than that it was the same story - stop Diggs, stop the Bills offense.

His brother tweeted during the 2023 season that Stefon needs to leave Buffalo and that Josh Allen didn't take off until Diggs got there.

And it's not like Diggs would be coming to a situation where there is someone else to take pressure off, whether they maybe draft a good receiver or not. But he may avoid playoff failures here...
But, sure, bring him in. Let these receivers see what a professional looks like.

Skimming the latest post leads me to believe that this is a done deal, And I'm not exactly sure how to feel about it. At his peak he is an the elite WR we hear about all the time, but is he ever going to be that guy again. I think it's good news that he's a nut job perfectionist who is demanding of his fellow players and coaches. But like anything, too much of it can be harmful in the wrong environment.

So I think it IS going to happen and perhaps we can take a step away about the Superbowls through WRs narrative will abate for a while. The health and age risk is going to be there and this could fall flat in the end, but the biggest reason this is likely to get done, is that the Pats are the team most likely to give Diggs the kind of deal he wants. With the amount of cap money we STILL have, we have the least to risk and the longest time for patience.

But in the end you DON'T win divisions in March. The Jets used that strategy for decades at no avail and we should know better. Whatever they pay Diggs will be worth it, if only for how it makes people feel about the team.
