Would love to hear your opinion on the Minnesota Vikings who won what 13 games with Sam Darnold as their starting QB? Built off two electrifying star WRs Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Darnold would have been lucky to win 4 games without those two.

You’ll see this year when Darnold makes an asshat out of himself in Seattle.
That team didn’t win because of Jordan Addison lol. There was a lot more to it than that. Addison was hurt much of the year and barely did anything until the very end of the season. It was Jefferson and a bunch of role players most of the year, plus a great defense (you know, like I have been advocating for)

Also, how many playoff games did they win?

For someone that was injured, Addison had more touchdowns than Douglas, Boutte, Bourne, and Hunter Henry COMBINED

Yes we are.

Some of us have been here before. Some have not.

Yes, it is.

The way you've gone about it isn't. Frankie says relax ...

or don't... Chaos can be fun
Yes, I have been watching football intently since 93 and posting on this forum since 2009.

Then you were posting under another account, another name... if that is the case, you should know there is more than one way to build a team...

lot of people don't subscribe to ...

... the method you are screaming for

would it be nice to get another randy moss type player? sure would... its fun, its exciting...

last year we gave up 50+ sacks... gave up 414 points... the offensive line had 41 penalties... how many of those were drive killers?we were in the bottom seven in terms of time of possession... and I haven't even gotten into 3rd and 4th down conversion rates... those issues need to be addressed... and yeah, it sucks not being able to get the shiny toy right away...

Do you think I want to get a left tackle in the top ten of this draft? Its the most boring pick imaginable... its a pick you will never think about unless they screw up... its a lot more fun to say wow, look at that! Carter got his 11th sack! or Hunter scored his 12th TD! yahoo... it may not be a sexy pick, but its necessary.

Its exponentially "less fun" to see Maye getting sent to the blue tent for "evaluation" ... Teams broke our line last year rushing four guys... Its a lot "less fun" to see our opponents hold the ball for 36 minutes a game because we can't stop the run...

Sometimes you have to build the foundation of the team... We added the most important piece last year. Now we have to give him the ability to work. That means competent line play. That means having a competent defense so we don't get creamed in the TOP battle... and that means building the trenches... I do not think Abdul Carter will be available at 4. Hence its LT for me. Then Edge/DL... Then WR... Then RT... Then 3rd down back.... Then Kicker... etc.

So the Bengals are going to do it the Colts Fashion way: try to outscore people to win. Let's see how long that lasts: Did I say the Bengals Defense is going to suck?? History have taught them nothing.
That's right twin.. defense matters in this league.. look at KC and Phili they didn't win by simply outsscoring opponents they had top 10 defenses too.. we will have that again in NE.. offense will come along..

Your spot on. Seeing the historical year with moss was amazing. It gave us the fans an experience that we never saw possible offensive in NE. However the future remains we didn't win a superbowl.

I can see the Path Vrabel is setting. The foundation with solid defense, leadership and culture guys.

I can with confidence say Drake will be coached and continue to develop correctly under Josh and Vrabel. The offense whoever we end up with stands to be more fluid, professional and maintain drives. The way the defense is being constructed it will be very difficult for teams to score on us.

@Pape

Just wanted to make mention that Joe brady and McDaniel I can bet you have already been up late night trying to figure out how they are going to move the ball on our defense.

And you My Dude ( along with @Ross12 ) are the one(s) arguing with an idiot. Think about that for a minute. You are engaging someone who added two 4-13 seasons and came up with...

That's some 'special' **** right there. Guess we should give props for him at least getting 4 + 4 right. Maybe he ran out of fingers and toes for 13 + 13.

Why are either of you giving Ray and Thunderdufus, who doesn't seem to know the NFL well enough to be aware Mike Brown is the poster child for Cheap Pricks R Us, the time of day? Honestly my man, it's just this side of arguing with Andy but with even worse math and comprehension skills. Your dog has forgotten more about the NFL than either of them knows ffs
I did take advantage of Ian's new "shhhhh" graphics on that one. I'm done with him.

Bengals believe it or not actually created more cap space after completing these two deals.

And created more cap debt down the road, assuming the NFL economy stabilizes and gets into a groove, that gambling revenue gets baked into the next year’s salary cap or the one after … the annual increase should become more reasonable.

In the old days a new tv deal would get renegotiated every 10-12 years and there would be a temporary large increase after each new deal. For the decade in between the cap only increased roughly 4%. I expect this to happen now with gambling and this new streaming pie. Eventually it will settle into a minimal rise like before.

Believe it or not? Considering in Chase's case they were looking at the 5th year option real money cost of @ $22M and Higgins was going to cost them @$28M in 2025 cash and cap hit on a 2nd tag, they'd have been idiots if they didn't end up with more current year cap space. Hell, that was the whole point of these contracts

For now. Looking at Justin Jefferson's contract, his cap number is almost $48M in 3 years. Chase and Higgins are going to be through the roof in that time. Bengals are going all in now and need to hit on the draft which is very unlikely.

This reminds me of the Deion Branch-Givens situation in 2006. Like Higgins, I wouldn't have minded Givens walking if they had kept Branch. However, the money Branch was asking for at the time was way too much. What Bill should've done was exactly what he agreed to do with Samuel after the 2006 season and that was to not slap the franchise tag on him after the 2007 season.

What does how many touchdowns Jordan Addison scored have to do with anything I said lmfao

Every time someone disproves your point, you just fall back on “well they’re better than the Patriots were in 2024”. News flash - 95% of teams were better offensively than the Patriots in 2024. That doesn’t mean anything or prove any point.

My point stands …Sam Darnold was resurrected from the dead because of Justin Jefferson AND Jordan Addison whose electrifying playmaking abilities carried them to 13 wins. How many games does Darnold win last year with Douglas and Bourne in place of Jefferson and Addison?

I’m with you on the patriots needing an elite left tackle. It’s essential. If Trent Williams was sitting there at 4 I would be all over it. I just don’t believe in a worthy LT being available at 4 in this draft

Sam Darnold was carried to 13 wins by the amazing ability of Jordan Addison only having 3 games over 70 yards receiving all year?

Your point is non-existent

Sometimes you have to take that risk.

Sometimes you have to take that risk.
You take that risk at 4 with a high ceiling player, maybe with a Simmons or Membou…Campbell has a low ceiling at tackle, at guard he has a high ceiling.
