I provided a link with a list of all the movement at each position take your pick. I don't care for the back and forth that putting specific names will create. There were multiple options at each position and we didn't get any of it done, going through each name so you can explain why it didn't happen won't make me any happier about the problem and probably more likely would just frustrate me more.
So it’s just a general we should get anyone we want, and every name means great player thing?

Can we start a gofundme so this guy can get an aircraft carrier?
When I was a kid, I wanted a GI Joe Helicopter (the REAL full size GI Joe's). When I came home from school, it was there on my bed, brand new in-box. And I came from a lower working class family that lived in an apartment in Lynn. The same thing used to happen for Christmas. What I came to find out as an adult, was that a close family friend (who was more of an Aunt to me and never had any kids of her own), would give my Grandparents the money to buy whatever I wanted for such occasions. It wasn't uncommon for my Grandfather to work 3 jobs just to provide us with the basics.

I will most certainly change my opinion when/if they actually address the gaping holes.
As I would obviously change my opinion if they sign no other players on offense then wait until late day 3 of the draft to select a LT or WR. Just saying it's WAAAAAAY too early to be calling this "gross negligence."

I really wanted one of Fries, Dalman, Becton, Jenkins. Fries and Dalman went for crazy money, and Jenkins is going to get a bag too, but Becton was super affordable for how well he performed.

I wonder if guys like Trystan Colon and Will Hernandez are worth a look at LG in the next wave of FA.
For some reason I now have a craving for bacon fries. In all seriousness though Dalman would’ve been really nice. Maybe they still draft a C and keep Strange at LG. Strange is a FA after this year so they’ll need to figure his spot out eventually.

I didn't even really want Kupp either. I definitely don't want nothing either.
So despite your refusal to name what we missed out on, lll ask again, which WRs do you think we ****ed up on?

******** I did. I, along with most everyone I could rope into it, went all over hell and gone wasting God knows how much time and energy in a fruitless pursuit of my goal. THEN I threw beaucoup bucks around to get what MY SONS wanted. All I wanted was that brief moment of satisfaction that came from having succeeded, until the next f'n 'it' thing that their childhoods wouldn't be complete without came along. For that one shining moment I was the perfect consumerist parent of my day, paid double what I should have to do it too.

Lord help me, I almost miss those days
I hope you got to share that story with your kids when they became adults and then told them:

Even if they did make an offer, I would guess that he looked at our situation and said they just brought in Moses and the have Owenu, so the positions I play. I think he knows that he is not a LG or LT, so why would he want to come somewhere that he is not set up for success?

Just my guess. We don't know
I don’t think being drafted as a LT, eating your way out of a job, then being a swing tackle, then getting converted to RG because the team that signed you for peanuts needed one makes you a RG and not a LG.
Having failed at LT and publicly saying you would rather play G because it’s easier probably rules you out at the T position altogether.

If we didn’t have the worst OL I’ve ever seen last year and still have only 3 OL who have played at the level of even a quality NFL backup I would have crossed Becton off the list for soooo many red flags.

It’s easy to fix the team from my recliner and I don’t have to consider I screwed up by signing a fat guy who is likely to eat his way back onto IR once he gets a paycheck.

I'm aware.
Someone else said that he wasn't worth 1/2 of that 15M he got, which is beyond fkn ridiculous.
My bad didn’t see that.

If we had a good solid WR corps and normal cap situation I might agree Kupp isn’t a good option regardless of price, but given our current situation whatever it takes was a fair approach. Of course whatever it takes sounds like it meant being on the west coast.

And you would do it all over again

To be fair, I am not a crybaby Pats fan, but I also want everything.
As a fan of a team with over 60 mill in cap space you are supposed to want everything.
Budget only comes into play when it stops you from getting something else.
We can outbid any team for any player with no real opportunity cost right now.

As with most things from their childhood (hell, now too for that matter) my long suffering spouse ratted me out long before I got a chance to. It's all good though, her timing has always been better than mine. It is kind of funny though, now that they have their own kids I have gone from being the village idiot of parents to the fountain of all male wisdom. When in reality I'm still just making it up as I go along, just like every other miscreant

One Christmas when I was a kid, I desperately wanted a G.I. Joe aircraft carrier. I don't think I ever wanted a toy as badly as that. Christmas came and went, and I didn't get my aircraft carrier. I was bummed, but being a kid, quickly moved on and had fun playing with what I did get.

Years into adulthood, I made a joke with my parents about how they never got it for me. They then explained the weeks my mom drove all over the area while I was at school trying to find it. She called pretty much every store that might have one. My dad worked late a couple times and drove to a couple places right before closing in hopes they were stocking for the next morning. (This is after working 15+ hour days) My parents even had relatives in the next state over looking for this thing.

Results don't necessarily equal effort.

But this board has taught over the last few days that it's doubtful my parents even tried looking for this toy and more than likely never even loved me.
Love this analogy.

Going into the draft I wanted one side of the ball to be close to a finished product. There are still upgrades needed on defense, I feel confident that this Defense will be able to get the ball back for the O.

I wanted Fries and Dalman badly, but I do not want to see them just throw money at players that play a position that we have a need at. Robinson and Jenkins(who I want) have not been made a priority by anyone else up to this point. That is telling. IMO, Robinson is not much of an upgrade to Lowe, so really not cost effective. Jenkins has durability concerns and is a much better run blocker than pass blocker.

Vrabes and crew has not given us a reason to think that they can't put a football team together. Just relax (HEHE AROD joke there) everyone.

The other thing with signing guys like Robinson is that you are locking into a 3-4 year deal with them, when you know that what you want is a much better player than that as your starter going forward. So yes, you have improved the position a little, but you still need to find a much better player to play it on a real contender. So if they can get that little upgrade at a shorter less costly price then it’s easier to replace it with a really good player in the draft or the next free agency.

No need. I've moved on. The night terrors stopped almost a year ago now.
LOL thank god. In your story I am glad you were not a little **** to your parents for not getting the thing you want. That was a great analogy that you laid out and provided good perspective. Well done

Brilliant post. Bravo.

Becton went to the Bolts for 2/20M.

That one stings at the price. It's very affordable and he'd have been a rock for a rookie LT to lean on. We could have done 2/25M and be pretty much done with free agency, addressing LT and WR early in the draft.
Not sure he should be called a rock. He was downright AWFUL his whole career then he signed with a loaded OL and great system/coaching and switched over the RG spot. Playing on the right side is easier than left and guard is easier than tackle. It took a lower degree of difficulty position wise and great coaching/talent around him to make him look good and while he was solid last year, hardly an all pro.

You’d be asking to come into a worse team and learn a new position. Not that I’d be against signing him, but he’d hardly be a rock. He’d be a question mark himself.
