I love the fact that they had a plan with several baked in pivot points. I feel pretty certain that if Godwin agreed to come here that they would not have offered that much money to Davis or Milton Williams. I could be wrong but it just felt like they had a bucket of players they were willing to give certain money to regardless of position. I love the flexibility.

It's entirely possible, but McD has had great luck with dedicated FBs. So if not Juszczyk, I hope it's someone else.

They are not NFL caliber players, to blame coaching is lazy.

We have more than enough resources to address 5 needs.

Why are you arguing for the right to not improve the football team?

When you have a position group of 3, and 2 of the spots appear to be locks and the other spot has 2 young 4th rounder candidates with starting experience, you kinda put that on a back burner and focus on stuff that really matters. With any position, if a stud appears on the horizon who's better than anyone we got (probably with June cuts), sure. But those aren't the phone calls happening this week.

Patriots still had this problem even when Brady was here. Same culture as the NBA, skill players prioritize weather. Definitely hurts that the team has been subpar for years. Nothing you can do other than move the Patriots to St Louis or Cancun or somewhere warm.

I usually assume $6-10M because it'll depend on how high you pick and how many you pick.

The Chiefs still show ~$20M over the cap, and they have since made multiple deals, so it's really even more. They are gonna need to make some cuts/restructures by tomorrow to become compliant.

It is a bit strange. I would've thought more second tier guys would agree to deals. Not sure why they feel the need to wait, what advantage is there?

Its possible that there are bidding wars going on or they want to wait and see moves that teams make to see which team they will have the most opportunity or win.

Barring a trade for Tee Higgins (or similar), which would probably be an interesting move back in the 1st Round (but still possibly get Simmons or another high quality player and some more picks), we should ease up on the spending to be able to grab something next off-season. And even if we acquire Higgins, that deal will be spread-out over 4 to 5 years given his young age. We can't say they haven't spent this off-season. It's just prudent at this point to keep cap flexibility for this year and the next (as we still have area's to improve and it would be nice to have the money to do it). As it's been pointed out on here by many, we won't fix everything in one year. We're off to a decent start though.
