The Jags had a younger in house LT they wanted to re-sign and they traded Robinson because he was a FA after the year that they didn't want to keep and it was a lost year for them. I hardly view it as some huge indictment of him.

He had a really bad final 2 games with MIN, but was fine overall. Bad games happen. No one is saying he's a HOFer. You can't write off every player who has a bad game.

At 29, he's not headed for a retirement home anytime soon. Hasn't been an iron man - 17 starts last year but only 9 the year before, 14/17 each of the two years prior. He wouldn't be the first guy to let themselves go after signing a second huge contract to set themselves up for life. It's a risk to some degree, but also some solid backing to it.

Dan Moore got 4 years and $82M. You want Cam Robinson at those numbers? That would be the death of our franchise.

Definitely not at 4 years. Moore’s contract is horrible , he got more than alaric Jackson. but hes also 26 yo so im thinking cam gets less. If its a 2 year deal it wont hurt.

It’s part of negotiations.

“We’ll give you a 4th”
“Hmm… it’s worth considering, but Joe really deserves the best opportunity… we’ll let you know if nothing else comes up”
“OK a 3rd”
“Sold!”
Where would Milton go in this draft if he was available?

2nd?

The amount's literally irrelevant. It would probably be a 3 year deal like everyone else got.
3 years at $20M a year? There are much better options as a stop gap. $60M for a stop gap? That is Nuts.

Man, 7 players signed on day 1 of free agency is pretty significant. Vrabel meant it when he said they’d be “aggressive”. So aggressive they even signed guys who had already agreed to deals with other teams!
BB did that with Rodney Harrison.

Worked out pretty well.

Why would Cam sign a 2 year deal? Let's be realistic and not talk about pie in the sky scenarios.

You either accept what you have or pay the stupid rates for LTs. Those are your choices.

Why did alaric only sign for 3 years when hes alot younger and had a better year? Its not completely far fetched when cam’s market isn’t as strong as moore and alaric

You have to spend it on someone.
We have so many holes we don't have to waste money. We could have signed Chase Young for that amount AND had $10m left over.

You understand that after all those signings yesterday, they went from 130 million under the cap, to like 75 million under the cap?

Like I said, you can sign 3 Cam Robinsons to 3/60 and still be well under the cap.

Noone knows why Alaric signed for so little. Can't use an inhouse emotion based signing as a barometer.

Right, and nobody knows that cam is going to demand 4 years 82 mill

Are you sure Robinson is going to get a deal like that? Robinson is going to be 30 during the season while Moore is 26. Moore was overpaid because of promise. Robinson's market probably dwindled because he was so bad in his last two games last season. And Jaylon Moore, who is pretty much considered in the range of both Robinson and Dan Moore, only got a two year, $30 million contract. And I would happily pay that for Robinson.

At Jackson's age, less years is probably better. After this deal he'll be hitting free agency heading into his age 30 season, the same as Robinson is now. A shorter deal puts Jackson in better position to land another lucrative deal next time through free agency/pre free agency. Low years, high AAV is the goal for someone like that to maximize their earning potential.

Robinson on the other hand, should really just be about total guarantee. He's 30 so any long term deal might be his last. His goal should be locking in a high salary as long as he can. 4 years, $60M is probably better for him than 3 years, $50M because even though the 3 year deal is higher AAV, it's probably not smart for him to bet on being able to get $10M going into his age 33 season. Obviously contract totals are made up because of all the cap gymnastics but yo get the point.

Then sign a FS, EDGE, guard, and WR. No need to sign trash.
