I don't understand why some people are worked up about this signing. He's a one year place-holder that acts as insurance should we not be able to draft an X. At least for now, we have an X receiver who can be a downfield and RZ threat, that is a very good blocker and special teams expert. No he's not the answer, but he might provide some cover until we get the answer.

Yes. The guy was clutch for Buffalo. I didn't realize he was 6"4 either. Good pick up and I have no complaints on our approach.

Sorry. I'm not buying what you're selling. Hollins was 29 in Vegas. He'll be 32 just after the start of the season.

In the 2 seasons since his "career" year in Vegas, he's had the following:
30 games, 80 targets, 49 receptions, 5 drops, 5 TDs, 629 yards. 1066 offensive snaps.

Color me unimpressed. Just because he has some history with McDaniel isn't enough to convince me he's worth a 2 year deal.

What am I “selling”? They don’t have anyone on the roster who’s physically capable of playing the X. They signed someone with system knowledge/experience who fits the physical profile and plays STs well enough to be a 5th or 6th WR and still be gameday active to at least provide depth.

They obviously need to do better at the X receiver spot for a starter but you also need depth. I’m not going to fret about 1 vs 2 year until I see the details.

Get Hunter in the draft if he's there at 4. If not try to find a suitor for the 4th pick, and take a couple of stabs at WR in the second round.

If we draft two WRs, then one of Polk or Bourne is shown the door.

Someone who can mentor the young guys in the room is not a bad thing......I am convinced they aren't ready to give up on polk, baker, or douglas yet, after the culture/coaching debacle of last year......bringing a guy like this just might help salvage one or more of the young guys

What’s with the pure vitriol for Bourne? You and a few other posters have it and it’s confusing to me. Not saying he’s great, but do people really think he’s a total bum?

He’s been here 4 years. His 2021 and 2023 (pre-injury) seasons were played at level and statistical pace which was that of a “good WR”. A #3 type. His 2022 and 2024 seasons were both played at a terrible pace that justifies saying he’s a bum. But 2022 was the weird Patricia year where he was in the dog house and last year was a return from injury year which is notoriously tough on WR. Truth is probably somewhere in the middle because he’ll be 30 so I’m guessing he’s declining vs improving but my guess is he’ll probably be closer to 2021/2023 level.

I don’t think it’s a disaster if he’s a #3/4 WR. Ideally I’d like to see him cut because he’s a Z and we have bodies there so alignment wise it make sense to swap him for an X since the developmental guys need playing time in his role. But I don’t think he’s a bum.

I to lean towards a move is coming with a WR going out.
Hollins a player familiar with McD's system, and has some ST play in his background, something the teams other WR's don't have. depth signing, nothing to get worked up over, but certainly not the teams presumed upgrade at the position

The Bills signed Josh Palmer to replace Hollins. Palmer got $12M a year, Hollins got $4.2M. Palmer is obviously better and younger, but $12M is lot for a really mediocre WR. Better off paying $4M and looking to draft a tall 'X' receiver in 2026 (we get Hunter this year).

Too bad we can't fill and upgrade a couple more holes with a FA at $4M a year.
