"Not Worth The 4th Pick"

I suppose the one thing that might prevent them taking Membou would be if they really like Trapilo and the Marrone, Bill O'Brien connection.

He's projected to go late 2nd/early 3rd and probably best suited as a guard.

He's 6'8". That's a very tall guard. I'm not suggesting he's better than Membou but they'll know Trapilo and could maybe decide they can get a different position at 4 and get Trapilo later. I'm not saying they should, it was just something that occurred to me.

Speaking of tall guards. We should look at this guy that just got released....

To keep it draft related lol he was a target of mine the year he got selected to help protect Brady in Tampa.

So yeah being 1st in these categories isnt exactly a selling point lol but perhaps he just needs better coaching?

I do think we’re out of the Hunter/Carter stakes. It only takes one, but Shedeur is not getting good feedback as a top 3 pick right now.

The Deion Sanders factor is a real thing. Whoever drafts that kid has to put up with Deion's bullchit as well. And you have to figure you're signing a long term lease agreement, because his father was a mercenary.

There's a lot of buyer beware to me. I am glad the Pats got Maye last year.

yes but where 1 drops another could emerge. I'm hearing a lot of chatter around Jaxson Dart climbing up the board.

One thought on Mason Graham's value. If we were to draft him at 4, he could very well be a situational player. He could be sharing the position with Milton Williams, Christian Barmore and Keion White. Obviously a lot of moving parts there but if everything goes right, committing to a rotational player at 4 is not an optimal use of that pick.

I'd feel a lot more confortable with Membou at 4 once FA is done. If they sign Stanley im all for Membou, play him at RT and eventually he takes over LT in a couple of years. If not, you have the time to find someone else.

if that were the case short term that's one thing, but long term? Then I'm out at 4. They need to be an every down player.

I'm not out on Graham but I am going to bump full time starters over him like Membou and even Campbell (LG). Having said that, that would change if we got bad news on Barmore or didn't sign Williams. Graham would probably go back to my no 1 option in that instance.

That's my concern with Graham. He's a proven interior pass rusher, but that's it. He needs to be a 3 down player.

With Williams, Barmore, and White wouldn't we prefer an anchor like Kenneth Grant than a penetrator like Graham?

Grant is a rare athlete for the position but I'm not convinced by taking a first round DT if we sign Williams and Barmore gets the green light. I'd be thinking more along the lines of an Alfred Collins, CJ West, Jordan Phillips or Jamaree Caldwell. Would Grant be getting enough snaps to justify the first round pick?

I think this is where my big board at the 4 pick ends up. This is subject change depending on what happens in FA obviously.

Tier 1

Abdul Carter
Travis Hunter

Tier 2

Armand Membou
Shemar Stewart (I could see myself jumping him over Membou but not yet)
Tyler Warren

Tier 3

Mason Graham (would jump up to tier two if we get bad news on Barmore)
Will Campbell
Tet McMillan
Colston Loveland

Tier 4

Ashton Jeanty
Jihaad Campbell
Jahdae Barron

Tiers 3&4 are only relevant in the case of a trade down.
