"Not Worth The 4th Pick"

Interesting talk on a podcast I just heard. The guys that use to run The Draft Network, Kyle Crabbs and Joe Marino, mentioned they heard at the combine Kenneth Grant could go before Mason Graham.

Just passing that along. Not something I really considered though I do like Grant.
that was a decent website a few years ago... kinda eh now... shame really

Probably has more upside than Graham. Grant is a 'planet theory' prospect, particularly if he runs sub 5.00 at 331lbs as some expect.

That's the other side of this. While we've talked about maybe guys like Campbell or Graham or McMillan as "safe" guys that are maybe more mid 1's in a typical year, do guys with extreme upside get pushed up even higher? If you think you need a superstar in the top 10, maybe some teams ultimately do reach for the stars with their picks, taking more gambles. Grant might fit that, maybe Simmons ends up in the top 8, Shemar Stewart top 8, etc.

Definitely more intrigue around this draft than last year. Campbell could go 4 or he could go 10. Stewart could go 4 or could go 12. McMillan could go 6 or 15. Etc. We knew the QBs were going top 3, then 3 WR's and Alt somewhere in the next 6.

I agree. I really liked them years ago. They do a draft dudes podcast on spotify that's a good listen. Crabbs works for 33rd team or something like that now. Not sure what Marino is doing.

I think someone is gonna want to move up to 4 for a QB. Jets, Raiders, etc..if we end up still in top 10 would like a Stewart, Membou or McMillan. I like Graham and Campbell at 4 if we stick. Just think someone is going to offer a high 2nd and another sweetener to move off

I sure hope so. Not only does moving down slot put us in position to get better value, but the extra ammo would be huge.

If we need a tackle in the draft, the sweet spot seems to be 20-35. Simmons, Conerly, and Ersery appear to be likely to land in this range. Getting extra value to move up from 38 and not sacrifice amount of picks would be great.

We need to hope that Sanders and Ward are there at 4. If they both go top three, there won't be a lot of buyers.

If no one is worthy of the number 4 pick I suppose we could theoreticly abstain from putting a pick in until later in the first round until we felt the pick was more in line with the player.

If we pick at 4 a case could be made for Tyler Waren as the best all around receiver in the draft behind Hunter.

I see no love for james Pearce here , I am curious why

Light for a run defender. He's a sub-package rusher only early on with rumored character concerns. He's a talent, but how much risk is associated with the pick?
I wonder if he can add some muscles and play 4-3 DE. Right now he looks like a 3-4 edge rusher but his speed seems to fit what vrabel wants to do I think to some degree.
I think there is plenty of risk associated with this pick but high upside too with low floor which counts for many players at 4 imo if Hunter and carter are gone

I saw a rumour from a journo that he might make it to round three. Not putting to much stock into it but there does seem to be something there about character concerns, mainly around being uncoachable.
I didn’t hear that so far but good to know

Onto Armand Membou or graham train

I'm all over the place to be honest as befits the dilemma but it's hard to argue against Membou - he absolutely aced the combine and has the film to back it up. If we sign Stanley, Membou would be a really nice bookend.

Check out this video of Shemar vs Membou.

That was a great battle lol

One play I'm like wow Membou just locked him down or pancakes him but there was a couple times when Shemar just overpowered him. So good on both. I want them both!!

That play where Stewart just shoves Membou to one side and then makes the behind the LoS tackle.
