Do you want Will Campbell at 4 assuming Hunter and Carter are off the board?

I fully expected Campbell to have 33 inch arms.

This certainly muddies the water. I think I'm leaning towards a trade back at this point.

I want Abdul Carter

But realistically I will take Graham.

In a trade down scenario I want Simmons.
Despite the clear need, I could not, in good conscience draft even a HOF LG at #4 (And don't give me the Hannah stuff. Loved Hannah, but he's not what we need right now). Trade back. More picks. Make the right picks. Add solid talent (which includes after the 1st Round-Jayden Higgins, 1 or 2 solid RB's, DL and Edge). Stanley for a couple or 3 years at LT. And Milton, Baun, and Sweat from the Eagles, and whatever other FA additions we can get that are hopefully still on the young side and can build a winning culture.

Maye NEEDS a solid OL. No more screwing around with his protection and not being able to open holes for a running game.

Does that prevent him being an all-pro guard though? I think the Campbell LT game is over but Campbell tested very well and his film does support the idea that he could be a terrific guard.

Campbell has a very good skill-set and body type for Guard.

You'll take a guy that has an injury he may not recover from, because his arms are 3/8 of an inch longer?

I'm a big Simmons fan. But some of you go way too overboard based on some of these measurements.

Simmons may never play at his previous level again(which was only a portion of one season), and you'll take that over a guy who could be an all pro guard?
Campbell is a guard…we know that now. I’m not sure I am ok with the measurables of some of the top Defensive prospects.

I believe that's where he needs to play to be successful in the Pros with those measurements.

Can't see us spending the #4 overall for him as a Guard now.

I like Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter better for that slot. Now if we move down and pick up an extra 2nd, I'm not averse to taking Simmons or Golden in the 10-15 part of the 1st round.

What if they sign Ronnie Stanley?

Don't care. I'm sick to death from not having any Legit LEFT Tackles in the building. IF they sign Stanley, then I'm willing to wait until round 2 for what's left of Conerly/DJack/Ersery or round 3 for Belton at the latest; if they don't, then I want Banks or Simmons. Period.

This all happens only AFTER we trade-down, naturally. Staying at #4 is so stupid it's not even funny.

Yes.

We don't need no steenking GUARDS in the first round.

Of course it doesn't; and he could very well become a pro-bowl-caliber Guard. But he's Not what we need here now. At. All.

Some of the DL like Tyliek Williams and Alfred Collins actually do have the desired size for a DL, and they could be taken outside of the 1st Round (It's a deep DT Class with some potential studs perhaps even as far down as the 5th Round).

True and it's my only reservation for taking Graham at 4. But Mason has always been the consensus DT1 and I don't think the measurables change that for me. He can easily put the weight back on.

Yup. Shortest wingspan of any OT at the combine since 2011. And I say that as a Campbell booster.

Mea culpa Manxman, Bakes and others.

My Will Campbell franchise LT dream is now toast. He's Peter Skoronski. I'd still be ok with him in a trade back scenario, but 4 is too rich.

Which is my preferred approach, get both Ozzy Trapilo and Charles Grant. Im willing to bet Grant will be the best LT of the bunch. Get 2 developmental guys for both tackle spots to run behind 2 vets in FA.
Easier said than done. Got more than 2 for a "get both" list?
