Jason LaCanfora: Pats really want Higgins "He's going to New England"

4 for Pickens their First and their third.

It’s not just Pickens come on:
You realize the Steelers' first round pick is pick #21 right? So you want to go from #4 all the way down to #21 in exchange for Pickens?

A number 1 WR and taking a tackles like Simmons at 21 using the extra third to move backup for top player left on your board yes,
This is if Hunter and Carter are off the Board at 4.

The poster Zuma is referencing is proposing trading 4 overall for Pickens.
I just re-read @Zuma’s initial post. I clearly read it incorrectly and have no idea how I mixed that up.

I get theory here, that we can bring in several big needs but why Pickens?

Hypothetically, what would you accept for that move down?

I'd be tempted (aka running to the bank) by something like

Pats get:
2025 21st overall
2025 R2
2026 R1
2026 R2

Steelers get:
2025 4th overall
2025 R5

Just don't see it from their angle unless they're in love with Shedeur.

It's easy to do. People interchangably use "a 4th" and "a 4", which is then easy to mix up with just "4", meaning pick number 4.

And with that clarification, go 4th and sin no more

If the Steelers are trying to move up for Sanders, then yeah it'd need to be fairly significant. Your proposal isn't bad. I'd probably want another pick this year, like a 4th. They'd have to love the player to give up that much, yeah.

Randy Moss, Corey Dillon, Rodney Harrison say hi. The 4th pick would be lunacy...agree. I get that I'm in the minority....but I would for a 3rd rounder.
Pickens is none of those guys. One HoFer who might be the best ever, one underappreciated RB, and a future HoFer safety.
My proposal was 4 for Pickens their first and a third.
I would be dancing in the street for that deal.
For which we can be thankful you do not have the keys to the car.
'Vrabel the alpha', whose introductory press press conference included his stated goal of eliminating entitlement from his roster? That Vrabel is going to willingly import a known entitled and problematic man child?
Pickens is a punk. Selfish. Won't block, making a "business decision". All set. I don't want hm anywhere near this roster. Why anyone thinks he's a good fit here (or anywhere) is beyond me. When you look up Why Bill Belichick Had A Mental Block When It Came To Drafting WRs, there's a picture of that idiot.

All. Freakin. Set.

He is great at those 50 50 balls makes amazing catches and I think he and Maye get to another stratosphere together.

With how well Vrabel handled Brown and how McDaniels handled Moss, I have. No concerns about character.

His stats have been impacted by inconsistent QB play, conservative, vanilla play calls.

He has NFL experience there’s a few wrs in this draft I could be convinced taking over Pickens if he was reinserted in the draft l.
But showing your skills have worked in the NFL gives him the leg up.

My choice of WRs to target using 4 as part of the package

Williams
Waddle
Flowers
Pickens

On this list Pickens is the one who has the best chance of being moved and the team who may over value 4 than the others.

We tried getting Worthy last year and we were outbid or just screwed.
I have no doubt Wolf is targeting a speedster like Isiah Bond as early as the third.

They were all punks until they were with us. They aren't all choir boys.
1. This locker room doesn't have Tedy Bruschi, Lawyer Milloy, Ty Law, Richard Seymour, Willie McGinest to police itself.
2. All three of those guys were joining a team with Super Bowl cache. This team is far from that.
3. Harrison was a hard ass that no one wanted to play with, the opposite of Pickens.
4. Moss was looking to prove he could do it still, and he was already a HoF player. Pickens has talent, but ain't no Randy Moss.
That logic has gotten us the Thornton, Polks and Harry’s,
Somewhere between Bill Belichick eschewing knuckleheads and Pickens there's a middle ground. You want to put him on a the 2003-2004 team and let those guys mold him into a Patriot? Fine. Now? Absolutely not.

I guess I have much more faith in Vrabel laying the law down then you do. If you haven't noticed, he's pretty hard -nosed coach He's not going to be taking **** from anyone...not even AJ Brown types The days of the Krafty choir boys are over thank god. Time to start winning again.

Why do the Steelers want to get rid of him?

We all know why?

He's a clubhouse problem that causes dissension in the team.

Antonio Brown #2

Have we got him yet?

He's got issues for sure. I wonder if there is more to that then we know of.

While I agree, this board was divided when Antonio Brown signed with the Pats and especially during his legal troubles.
