I've seen several different articles offering different takes on the financials of what Deebo's contract might cost the acquiring team but if it's in the $15-18M range and he can be had for a Day 3 pick them the Pats should definitely kick the tires. They'd be negligent if they didn't

The reason for the different guesses in that the cost depends on how much SF will pick up of the 2025 option bonus.

I do agree that we should pursue Deebo.

A cost effective Deebo as a Swiss Army knife in a McDaniels offense? Sign me up

Along with Deebo, I would also add Hopkins who has worked for Vrabel before.

I'm not so sure Hopkins has a lot left in the tank after watching him this past season. If they acquire Deebo and they're not in on Higgins I'd like to see them take a run at a down field guy like Darius Slayton to open things up for the rest of the WR group.

How many WRs are you carrying? Bourne is getting shown the door....we carrying 6?

Deebo and Higgins sounds pretty good to me. Then draft heavy on the defense, perhaps a TE later on as well.

Steel cage death match, let it sort itself out

Both would Elevate our lesser Receivers.

I wouldn’t go for both Higgins and Deebo, that’s a 3rd of their cap space for 2 receivers. Their priority has to be both lines.

I would rather see them get Deebo then go after Luther Burden or Mathew Golden in the Draft.
I like deebo to. He wanted to be here and we almost had him last season but Lynch and Wolf could agree on the proper compensation. Hope we get him this time around.

We carry 5-6 plus 1-2 on the Practice Squad when we have so many question mark youngsters.

I would want two vets plus the kids: Boutte, Douglas, Polk, Baker and Jackson.

you seem to have forgotten that the Pats offered Aiyuk and Ridley more money than they agreed to elsewhere.
players have to accept offers.
Pats are wise to have plans A,B,C,D. all should assume Higgins is not interested, even if the Pats offer trumps all by a few Million.
That's what Wolf said.
If you believe that, especially after the full-on dumpster diving they did last offseason, then I don't know what to tell you.

You're right, they have to want to play here. You need to pay them more than other teams would. The Patriots have more money to spend than anyone else, and did last offseason too - and didn't do it.

We only have 2 now that are worthwhile
I assume you mean Pop and Boutte. I think you undersell Bourne. He wasn't great last year but he got better and there's a long history of guys needing a year to get back to normal after injuries like he had. Not great, but I think he's "worthwhile".

We have so much cap space and so many holes to fill that it's kind of a game of musical chairs. I don't expect perfect solutions at every spot. If Pop/Bourne/Boutte are the #2-#4 receivers next year, I think that's something we can live with for a year. Would remain something we need to address longer term though. But if something they need to live with because they used their resources at other spots (OL, EDGE, FS, CB, LB) then I think it's ok.
