Carter
Hunter

Doesn't seem like any of the OL are worth #4 - or the money associated.... I'd assume If a QB falls to us (Hunter and Carter taken in top 3) we'd have an opportunity to trade down for someone wanting to draft Sanders or Ward..

The landscape is going to change dramatically in free agency.
Not just in terms of who the Patriots sign, but also in regards to QB-needy teams.

Kirk Cousins, Aaron Rodgers, Derek Carr - all likely to be cut, and all looking for a starting gig.
Sam Darnold, Carson Wentz, Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, Jimmy Garoppolo and Daniel Jones will all be free agents as well.

So much depends on how the Titans, Browns and Giants plan on doing at QB.
It would be nice if two of them decided to draft a QB - leaving the Pats with more choices - but that's not a given.

The money associated is still far cheaper than spending a ton of money on mediocre talent like Cam Robinson in FA. Look at how costly the Jawaan Taylor moved turned out being for KC.

I take Carter over him if he is still there. But I think Campbell is worth it enough at 4 if Carter/Hunter are off the board, even though I'd put him closer to a pick 8-9 value.

We need to spend on a LT in free agency.

The draft just has too many ?s

Can you get a developmental prospect? Sure but he won't be a day 1 starter.

There's only 2 blue chip can't miss prospects.

Carter and Hunter

Graham is just a notch below but assuming we can't find a trade partner than he would be my last option.

That would be the case if there was one worthy but unfortunately there just isn't.

1. CARTER

2. HUNTER(HOLD MY NOSE)

3. GRAHAM
1. Carter
2. Graham
3. Jalon Walker or Trade-Back (Will Johnson, Kenneth Grant,Wyatt Milum, Jihaad Campbell, Etc.). Also, Day 2 and 3: Grey Zabel, Tate Ratledge, Jake Majors, Jack Sawyer, Jayden Higgins, Elic Ayomanor, Omarion Hampton, Devin Neal, Raheim Sanders, Ollie Gordon II, Willie Lampkins (as FB/TE/Emergency Center. Just a few of the players that intrigue me.

Before we go into the draft... Why don't we POACH the best free agents that we can?

Imagine if you steal a couple pieces from that Eagles Superbowl team?

We could easily turn back around into a top 10 defense and make every game winnable for Maye next season... as long as he also gets help on offense.
PHI did great in signing with their front seven and brining in Fangio, That made the difference compare to 1 and 2 years ago.

Take away Baun, Sweat, Williams and Graham and the team is much, much weaker.

which LT's would you give a 5-8 year contract?
Good question. Is there such a FA OT? I know Alaric Jackson is young enough, but can he accept coaching to be much better? And if we do draft a better LT in the future, can he successfully switch-over to RT? Such young OT's (especially LT's), are seldom available in Free Agency as you know.

Big question becomes: what do you do if you can't land one of the tackles in FA? Alaric Jackson and Ronnie Stanley look like the only two that would be worth the investment at that position. I think the tackle group is deep of developmental prospects, but it really does fall off after late round 1/early 2. We may be out of options.

Hunter or
Multiple First Round Picks.

1) Young enough means young enough to be expected to be an effective starter to the next THREE seasons, not 5-8.

2) We should be able to get one of the top 10, hopefully two (perhaps Robinson and one more) See below for the PFF list.

Offensive tackle

  1. Ronnie Stanley, Baltimore Ravens
  2. Garett Bolles, Denver Broncos
  3. Cam Robinson, Minnesota Vikings
  4. Walker Little, Jacksonville Jaguars
  5. Tyron Smith, New York Jets
  6. Alaric Jackson, Los Angeles Rams
  7. Dan Moore Jr., Pittsburgh Steelers
  8. Morgan Moses, New York Jets
  9. Jedrick Wills Jr., Cleveland Browns
  10. Justin Skule, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

As of Today ... There is no more important hole to fill than the LT spot.

The answer is: The Best Left Tackle Prospect there is in the draft. Don't care who it is - Campbell/Banks/Simmons etc...

Taking that guy at 4 seems like a big overdraft to me though. There's no Joe Thomas in this draft.

Didn't Walker Little (who I really wanted) sign a contract extension? Tyron Smith is toast. Garrett Bolles probably won't leave Denver. A possible trade for Kolton Miller might suffice for a couple of years. Stanley would be good for 1 to 3 years while we get a youngster ready behind him. Alaric Jackson is 5 plus years young.

Do not care one iota if anyone thinks its an over draft. Do not care of Sean McVay laughs at us again.

This one is really simple. Football for Dummies simple. Football 101.

Get a Left Tackle.

Don't play games. Don't overthink it. Don't **** it up.

we need this more than a guy in the Foxy Lady needs one dollar bills.

Assuming his arms measure, Alex Barth is taking Will Campbell at 4 in his most recent mock.

I get it. But there are 3 or 4 tackles that are about the same that you can get by the middle of the first round, easily. Burning pick 4 when you can have more capital for this year, or for going forward, seems kind of foolish.

Is the Foxy Lady still around? I've never been there, but remember the radio ads before I moved to WI is 2001.
