Man I was about to post about Jake's. A few years back we stayed in Hull and took the short ferry ride into Boston for a few days. We went to Jake's up the road from the hotel daily and my wife was in love with it. I'm not a local but we both thought it was really good, not too ritzy and not expensive either.

My wife got pregnant on that stay, lmao
Yes, see Ross I knew you were a man with great taste! I was telling signbabybrady about is as well. As you experienced is a great place to enjoy seafood.. I see that you also enjoyed yourself personally as well..

I forget the name of the hotel but we had a beautiful seaside view and the beach was right across the street. It was off-season (around April IIRC) but still nice. Want to get back sometime.

I lived in Hull in my 20's though don't remember much of those days. Lots of great rock bands played there in the 70's. Their was a popular amusement park there with an old wooden roller coaster.

You may be talking about the Nantucket beach resort?? Right on the beach? The view is incredible of the ocean. Yes, off season is a perfect time where you don't have to deal with all the beach traffic.

I lived in Hull in my 20's though don't remember much of those days. My dad was stationed there in Air Force in the 50's and 60's. They had a radar station there at the end of the peninsula. Lots of great rock bands played there in the 70's. Their was a popular amusement park there with an old wooden roller coaster.

I enjoyed going here as a kid!

My personal favorite is Arnold's. It's on rte 6 in Eastham. Best fried seafood on the Cape.

Heading to Eastham and Truro next week(RTE6 Obviously), I may stop in if I have time.
I always stop at the Eastham Superette to grab a sub, may change that up!

Thanks

Can't talk Randolph food without proclaiming Lynwood's the best bar pizza in the world.

True story El Prez started the pizza reviews because of an argument with another friend of mine (Salesguy) over Lynwood's.
Lynnwood Pizza is awesome, not sure it's "The Best", but 1 of my favorites.
La Hacienda in Cambridge (in the 70's-b4 they sold) and Sals would probably be my favorites around here over the years.

Unfortunately I think it's closed winters.

The beaches are nice off season though. I used to love letting the dogs off leash when no one was around.

I'm sure I've driven past it many times, and you're probably right about it being closed, although a bunch of places do stay open.
I'll do my typical at the Superrette if it is, subs there are excellent.

Thanks

Where is the best seafood in Boston/Mass?

I went to Peteys in Rye, NH and it was OK. I read that Browns in Salisbury, MA has declined. Newicks in Concord, NH too. None of these are Michelin star dining, but word of mouth destinations for seafood. In the Northeast there is always that 1 place for this or that. Like Portnoy and pizza.

My Father used to drive to Fitchburg to buy tires and to Lowell for gas because he saved 5 cents a gallon.
Summer shack in Alewife was just a couple T stops from me. It definitely wasn’t the best but it was super convenient. I am too lazy to Google but I think about it often and wonder if it is still around. It was seldom busy.

Damn that looks good....I wonder if the wife is up for an 11 hour drive this weekend
Little place in my hometown called Gene’s that also has decent fried seafood and other stuff if interested. I say had because it was great when I lived there and when I visited in 13’. Don’t kill me if you try it and it’s not. If using 95 to go to Bahston it’s not far off it. It’s what you’d expect on a boardwalk somewhere so not fine dining…picnic table type place.

Gene’s

Edit: I suppose it would help if I said where it was…Fairhaven, MA…

That's how a friend of mine that grew up there pronounced it... it's like a different fkn planet from where I grew up....(Cambridge/Charlestown/Somerville etc...)

NE has the best subs.

Cahills in Hudson, NH if you're ever in the hood.

I personally really like going to Seaport Grille out in Gloucester during the summer and eating out on the deck. Nice vibes, nice food. For BBQ, I used to like Redbones in Davis Square, apart from the lack of elbow room if you're dining in. The Smoke Shop BBQ is a nice local chain in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville. You must get the cornbread if you're into that, so good.

El Presidente is a millionaire 10 times over now.

After he visits, its like Jesus tried their pie for a struggling pizza place.

Gloucester makes perfect sense for great seafood.

I do like cornbread.

Only open during summer season. Maybe weekends off season but I don't think so.

They are more honest good portion but expensive. IMO worth every penny.

In part nostalgia but moreso just that they are cooked perfectly so it's probably my favorite spot and food on earth.

They do great onion rings too and throw in a lobster roll and you're in heaven.
Peteys seafood plate was $40.00, so Arnolds is right in line.

You get what you pay for,
