It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Do teams have to wait until the new league year to make any trades??Then they're going to have to do something soon; as with many other players, that $7.5M roster bonus is due on March 15, three days after free agency begins.
I hope shanny keeps his hands off.. he already has enough weapons...Cupp will end up with Shanahan in SF.
yeah, well, add a grain of salt, lol...Love it! 6th and we take on his deal would be excellent.
Well wait a minute now.. you could have worked for the Mayo regime and probably been the best advisor...yeah, well, add a grain of salt, lol...
there's a reason im opining on a message board instead of working in foxboro lol
If he worked for the Mayo regime he would be seen as radioactive and never get another NFL job.Well wait a minute now.. you could have worked for the Mayo regime and probably been the best advisor...
Well covington was able to get another job... probably the worst of all the coordinators last season..If he worked for the Mayo regime he would be seen as radioactive and never get another NFL job.
I forgot Pearsall was coming on late in the year, but Cupp just makes too much sense. Not only could he mentor Pearsall, but he won't have to be relied upon to being the guy which will only make him more effective when he does get his touches.I hope shanny keeps his hands off.. he already has enough weapons...
Yes all true. Along with ayuik, Jennings, Kittle and Mcaffrey. I would like to have cupp seriously. He would be excellent for drake.I fort Pearsall was coming on late in the year, but Cupp just makes too much sense. GB could be another destination or Miami.
I guarantee we would have had a better draft... I would have brought in Bacon as a consultantyeah, well, add a grain of salt, lol...

i would think that they'd be ketchup-centric...I read Mayo could be in play at Pittsburgh or Pierce.
To discuss trades? No. We've had trades in the last few years that were announced days/weeks before they could be made official.Do teams have to wait until the new league year to make any trades??
Yeah my statement was a little too much.
My point was that I consider the entire group, Kupp/Bourne/Pop/Boutte to be a bunch of #3's.
Got it! Thanks for the information. It just makes me curious as to if we possibly have already contacted teams on potential trade possibilities..To discuss trades? No. We've had trades in the last few years that were announced days/weeks before they could be made official.
To make trades official? Yes.
Pitt is probably the best place for him to go and learn how to become a better coach.I read Mayo could be in play at Pittsburgh or Pierce.
Agreed. Having McDaniels along back as OC is already an upgrade ahead of any we add to the roster. Polk and baker stand be be much more than non-contributing players like last season. I'm alright with adding Cooper if Higgins or Olave for example don't come into fruition. In the NFL teams can morph into a contender quickly. Talent wins in the NFL we have the coaching now it's time to get the talent!I can agree that our WR room stinks, but that comes with an asterisk. Bourne has potential. His first year with Josh was 55 catches, 800 yards, and 5 TDs. That was a fantastic year in Josh's system. If he can repeat that now being another season away from injury, it would be great. I think he is a very emotional player who thrives in a positive, well-disciplined environment. Matty P was his kryptonite. Having Josh back may help him surge again and he does understand the system.
A X receiver is aligned on the line of scrimmage, so the space between them and a press defender is minimal. Strength and size are necessary for traditional X receivers. One-on-one matchups to the outside are best handled by bigger-bodied receivers. That's why it was fun to see Gronk got to the outside at times.
A Z receiver is off the line of scrimmage and typically the ‘move’ receiver, the flanker who is often in motion and can also be utilized out of the slot. Hill is the perfect Z.
A Y receiver is usually the tight end in 11 personnel.
The slot receiver aligns with a less restricted release. He has a two-way go (inside or outside) upon release giving more space to operate. The thinking behind a slot receiver is typically associated with size limitations, although not always. Julian killed teams with his twitch, quickness, and knowledge of where to be inside or outside. When he told Brady in the Superbowl, "They can't cover me" it makes sense if you know how Josh schemed him, but it wasn't enough to score. That was when Josh went deep into his playbook to 22 personnel (two backs and two tight ends on the field). The Rams were not ready for it. Michel or Burkhead were covered by Peters and Talib. Thats a huge waste of CB skill. It left Gronk, Dwayne Allen, and Edelman matched up on the interior against linebackers and safeties. Gronk wins that every time. Sorry rabbit trail.
Kupp thrived at slot and Puka has replaced him. They are sort of power slots who morph different positions together to create mismatches on the field. Slot corners are typically smaller and can have a harder time taking on a larger WR. This is why you see AJ Brown, Davante Adams, and Justin Jefferson align in the slot frequently.
When talking about the Pats needing a #1, there is confusion. Does that mean a #1 option or does that mean ideally a X - big, fast, powerful? Julian was our #1, but was in the slot. Poor Boutte had to play the X role this year and did way more than most thought he would. He is a better Z. Polk was thrown into X at times and that was stupid. Bourne is a Z. Pop is a Slot. Kupp would be a combo of Z and slot. He does not solve the problem of not having a true X. Higgins fits that bill very well. So does DK Metcalf, and Diggs. Godwin fits the slot. Amari Cooper is a Z.
The benefit of having Josh back is now sorting out Bourne, Boutte, Polk, and Pop into roles that fit them, and not the idiocy we saw last season. Remember having Julian and Amendola in at the same time? Josh schemed two slots that killed defenses. AVP couldn't do that.
If Kupp came to NE, we still have the problem of no real X. Either Tee or Jayden Higgins could be a solutions there. Or both? We only has so many spots and so much money to spend on that spot.
The great news is the Josh McDaniels is our OC. His knowledge of the game is so far superior to anything that Pats have had in the last 4 years. It will take a few seasons to get the WR fixed. That's just reality, but it won't be anything like last season.
