I have no problems with Kupp he would easily give us 750yds at the very least. We had the 31st Ranked Offense don't know why we want to be so choosy.
PF2. Here's a reminder for anyone that is souring on the idea of cupp.

Remember Josh McDaniels would automatically prefer a Proven Vet WR over a Rookie WR... He knows what he's getting from the Vet.
Absolutely .. gimme kupp all day.. draft king TET.

Real: they'll probably say that was his brother Cooper Plate and not Kupp.

Somebody please pass this on to Albert Beer... opinions are like @ssholes everybody got one. On Tee Higgins not coming here that Beer's opinion: you can tell he had a few.
Tree top catch Higgins.. would have no problem making it rain at 30M... the girls at the foxxy lady would appreciate him...

There are risks of course, but in my opinion they have to take a very serious look here. Cooper is a very talented receiver we don't usually have access to.

Oh the wrong side of 30 talk, sports medicine is very advanced today, gotta check his head and motivation actually, 31 years old legs can still run a lot of miles.

Cooper and Godwin would be a huge upgrade for the price of a questionable Higgins, and they can shore up the lines through the draft.

I’m on the fence about the player. Was hoping for something to help tilt the tables.

I’m also ambivalent, unconvinced about the urgency of upgrading the WR roster in light of the ****show coaching last year, or last couple of years. I’m not convinced the talent on the field was as bad as it looked, given how badly they were misused and abused. Part of me wants to see the new coaching staff upgrade the OL, keep the same talent at skill positions, and fix the playbook, play calling, game prep and game management. It wouldn’t surprise me to see a borderline playoff caliber season from that.
Improvement of the OL&DL along with top notch coaching alone makes a world of difference. Our WRs aren't terrible they just aren't game breakers. However they could all be collectively better than last season especially adding a WR like Cupp. IMO.

No, don’t take Tet at 4, he’s not a top 5 overall prospect in this draft. I’d rather imagine a fantasy scenario where Ward goes to the Titans at 1, Garrett is traded by the Browns and they draft his successor in Carter at 2, and Sanders goes to the Giants at 3, leaving us with Hunter at 4. Imagine if he committed to playing WR and if we had Kupp too. Hunter and Kupp would immediately make this offense look more exciting at least on paper. Still have to hope we get some offensive tackles but I would be so excited to see what Maye could do with those receivers and McDaniels calling the plays.

Oh yes definitely Carter!! I've really, really grown to like him and he should be the consensus pick he has all pro written all over him. At the very least.. say we didn't get Higgins or another take the top off guy.. kupp would help the WR room alot. Also I can't imagine polk and baker being completely non factors like last season happening again especially under McDaniels.

Not at his age. If he gets lots of dollars they’ll not be guaranteed. If he gets guaranteed money it won’t be crazy lots.
Unless the Rams cut him, he already has 7.5 million guaranteed, without doing anything.

Will the Rams cut him? They might, for cap reasons. But it really sounds like they want something in return for him. So it may take a while to make a deal. If that goes into the start of the new league year, he has a 7.5 million dollar roster bonus. Combine that with his 12.5 million dollar base salary, that's a lot of money

Is exactly why I'm thinking that we could get him for a reasonable deal... 4th... 5th rounder perhaps??.. it's already known he's being dealt.. just my opinion...

I have no problems with trading for him. 5th sounds about right. 5th and they pay a chunk of his deal. 6th and we take on his whole deal.

I'd also take Cupp all day.

But not at 20M per season.

He'd have to negotiate that down. Which he probably wouldn't do.

The Rams don't want to pay $20 M and Kupp doesn't want to take a pay cut and he wants to stay with the team. So we're saying he will take a pay cut to play for the Patriots but not the Rams? Makes no sense.

I'm off the King Tet bandwagon: I think they can get other WR's in this Draft that are similar with less Draft capital. That's called doing your homework or due diligence in the Draft.

Yes, I know I just like King Tet his frame and catch ability. We need to get something out if polk and baker thier development is vital this season. We took them in the 2nd and 3rd round I really don't want them to be bust. McDaniels can develop them..

Cap ramifications of a trade absolutely change post-6/1 for many contracts. AJ Brown is a prime example this year. If Philly trades him prior to 6/1 they take on an extra 13 million cap hit vs post 6/1 they save 7 million.
You're missing a couple of points here:
(1) My point is that teams can't make a trade before 6/1 and designate it as a "post-6/1 trade" for cap purposes. That only exists for cuts (and, even then, they still have to carry the full cap hit until 6/1). To get the post-6/1 benefits on a trade, the trade can't be formalized until after 6/1 (which would prevent 2025 picks from being included).
(2) Trading post-6/1 means that the acceleration of future cap hits goes into the next season, rather than the current one. So, it's less pain this year, more pain next year.

Love it! 6th and we take on his deal would be excellent.

Then they're going to have to do something soon; as with many other players, that $7.5M roster bonus is due on March 15, three days after free agency begins.
