Don't think he has a choice.
If someone wants him for $20M a year, then he has no choice. At this point, that would be an OK payday.

There is no reason for him to restructure, especially to get sentenced to a rebuilding team for the next couple of years.

Go get him. Two years left on his deal, can be Maye’s WR1 in 2025 and maybe WR2 in 2026 if the Pats can get someone else to be WR1 for the long term. He’s already got a Super Bowl ring but it’s nice that he still has that competitive drive. Clearly not enough to rework his contract with the Rams and take less money, hence why they’re moving him. The Pats can afford him. Just have to hope 1) that he’s open to coming here in the first place and 2) that the trade isn’t too steep. More likely he ends up getting dealt to a contending team like the Ratbirds, but we’ll see.

We probably can have him if we really want him. If we offer a 3rd (as someone suggested) and pay him the $20M a year, Kupp has no choice.

Like @NE_Zealot said on the wrong side of 30 but not that much imo. Why not kick the tires on him? As little as I know about him, I can say I’ve never heard much about drama/off field issues with him so wouldn’t be a distraction. He would only improve our WR room. Bring him in and let him compete. Only worry is he would be Sanu 2.0. Would he come here is the question along with could he eventually be cut and then we pick him up…

He has the skill when healthy and the leadership the WR needs. I don't like his salary being that high. For a 5th round pic, sure and a restructure. Higgins + Kupp = Cool.

Pass. He is old and declining. I would rather hope for the Jets to cut Davante Adams.

Maybe if the Pats can get him for a sixth rounder or something. But Kupp is going to be 32 next season. He is a short term solution. Not a long term.

Pretty sure Adams is not a McDaniels fan

Id say he has 3 good years left in him. And 3 or 4 decent ones after that.

He's a damn good player.

YUP, a cool $50M a year

Not gonna happen here. Be shocked if he’s not on KC, Buffalo or Baltimore next year

Whenever any player says something like, "I am in the best shape of my career", you know there is a problem. Pass.

He looked plenty fast enough against us. Still, I’m in the camp that he’s too old, and too expensive.

I get the concern about the cost and age, but I’m struggling to find a solution to WR that everyone is happy with. Can’t seem to trust this team to draft and develop WR’s, and this upcoming draft class is a step down from last year’s. You can draft McMillan but everyone seems afraid of him being another N’Keal Harry. You also risk passing on a core defensive player (Carter/Hunter/Graham) who is a better overall prospect and safer bet to succeed. The free agent group consists of young but expensive and injury-riddled guys or proven but older and declining guys or mediocre, Agholor types. Trading costs salary and draft picks. Maye and Vrabel are a great QB/HC foundation to build upon but there are plenty of other teams who have a strong QB/HC combo who are more desirable destinations. Nobody is itching to come here. So what do we do? What is the solution at WR?

Hence I said restructure.
SAY it all you want. There us ZERO reason for Kupp to restructure unless it is to get MORE money.

Higgins is a free agent, no restructure there.
===
I would also note that you don't really mean "restructure". You mean take a pay cut from what they can get elsewhere.

No kidding Higgins is a free agent. Duh. Regarding Kupp, first, its being reported that the Rams may cover a significant part of his salary. How much? If traded, we would would get his $12.5 million salary this year and $14.85 million in 2026. A restructure could add a dummy year and spread it out more giving the player the chance to make more and be cap friendly. Its done all the time.

Maybe a team offers something in trade but I have doubts. My gut says he gets released and a team signs him for less than 20M.
