Insane?
I'm leaning towards thinking it was intrinsic to the plan.
Yep, it’s not even really a conspiracy theory.

I was thinking about that drop at the end, I realized that that’s what the bills needed, if they were gonna win they needed something kind of crazy and fluky, like the Edelman catch, the sort of weird random thing that sometimes needs to happen. They didn’t get it and they lost.

I still can’t get past that 4th down spot.

The ref at the top of the screen who had sight of the ball came in marking the ball past the first down line and the ref at the bottom comes in marking him short with NO VIEW of where the ball is . And they go with the ref who had no view. Its just insane
The nfl is not committed to getting it right. The call on the field should have no influence at all on the review. And take the time needed, like the nba does.

I'd heard comps that Drake is the new Josh Allan. Christ, I hope not. Last thing we need is a QB who chokes in the AFC Championship game every year.

The usual Buffalo Bills...

I think the Bills got out coached at the critical moments and the game plan left them susceptible to exposing their lack of creativity and play design, on defense and offense, and that's more or less what happened. Last week baltimore didn't match up the intensity but this week the Chiefs did and at key moments brought more. When the other team brings more intensity, you have to use that with creative plays to make them pay for it and Buffalo failed at the key moments in doing that. While the obvious answer is execution, it'd help to make the chiefs guess more.

Part of the problem Buffalo, specifically in the playoffs, is banking on "what's worked all year" especially defense, meanwhile the other teams are designing very good plays. I think I counted 4 plays total from Buffalo that were all of these:
well designed, timely, unpredictable, and well executed. where was Buffalos elite defensive play, ah there was none. Reid is better, Spags is better. 2 punts and a turnover doesn't get it done (as usual). Chiefs scored their highest point total of the year last night.

being repetitive, predictable, risk-averse, and relying mostly on out executing the other team is limiting.

i thought this year the bills were hiding a chunk of the playbook based on some comments from allen, didn't see that yesterday.

most bills fans shouldn't be surprised.
all of that lends the game to being decided by officiating.
On paper, the bills had no business being in that game, especially with Elam in there.

Overall, I think they over achieved.
Best of luck to your pats next year, losing sucks.
I am glad you saw the lack of creativity from the Bills as well, what's funny is whenever the Chiefs got creative, the Bills immediately fold. It seems to me the entire Bills team just don't have another level to match up with the greats. They are good, just didn't learn how to be great during those 4 loses in the playoffs.

his playcaller did him no favors and choked more. no james cook, same josh allen runs to the left on 4th down. No allen runs called on 1st or 2nd downs in a big game when mahomes had a lot in this game
The irony is that the bills OC a 'brady'.

Good news for the Bills — AVP is available if they’re looking to upgrade….

The calls themselves weren’t terrible to me either. But the fact that they went with the ref who allens back was to vs the ref who was on the side where you can actually see the ball is incredibly questionable, at the least
Yup, the spot was weird, but I am not sure of the process as to how the refs are supposed to figure that out. But regardless, it seemed like the Bills were just not the better team yesterday, both physically and mentally.

It should be reviewed by someone who has no idea what the original call was, what the score of the game is, and even what down it is (a little more tricky since its on the sticks).

And I hate the play stands as called cop out. That should only be used for the instances where the scrum is so big you can't see anything. Sometimes it's a difficult call but if you have video evidence than that's better than the naked eye in live play.

You see this a lot and I actually think one guy is running in at the line to gain not necessarily where he thinks the spot should be. Maybe a ref can confirm if this is true?

Part of the problem with replay review (and what we see) is they are looking at a big ass yellow line that is much wider than the actual first down line to gain. In cases where it's super close, that's a problem. The line is intended to help us as fans watching the play, not necessarily to be the end all of debate.

Bills lost to the Chiefs again for two reasons.

1. They got rid of their only threat at WR in Diggs.
2. They continually neglect the defense. Almost the entire defense has JAG’s.

I wonder if the Bills would put up Elam on the trade block. 2022 first round bust at CB but he might come really cheap. Won't need to be a CB1, we already have one.

He is absolutely terrible. Complete bust. Pats can do better

22 of 34 for 237, 2 TDs, 0 INTs and a 104.7 rating. A choke.

I wouldn't want one player on the Bills defense.

I'd say those are reasons 3 and 4. 1 is Mahomes is better than Allen and 2 Reid is better than McDermott.
