From The Buccs. Go figure.

If Brady is smart he goes after Joe Brady or Kliff Kingsbury.

Jason Licht has done a good job as GM with Tampa Bay ever since he got there in 2014, so it stands to reason that at some point another team would either try to lure him, or as in this case, his top assistant.

(Licht was also with the Patriots in 2002 as an Assistant Director of Player Personnel, and returned from 2009 to 2011 as the Pats Director of Player Personnel.)

Spytek has paid his dues and learned from several decent organizations - Lions, Eagles, Browns, Broncos, Bucs - so he'll have plenty of good contacts to deal/work with.

During the Commandos/Lions game Tom publicly reaffirmed he was staying with FOX for a long time but I just don't see this as sustainable as his constraints imposed by the league and his passion building a team will get the best of him.

Either the league gives him the boot or FOX & Tom come up with some messaging to the effect of, "We tried to work around the NFLs constraints for owners but felt this decision was best for our viewers...bla bla".

Damn shame that his passion isn't being fulfilled here, with a similar ownership stake in the NEP, instead of the LVR.. Same in a way as Bobby Orr should've had in the Bruins...

I disagree. Brady is making $37.5 mil/year to work a part time job.

His part time job also keeps him in the limelight which opens up more opportunities for marketing to earn iincome.

Agreed. Plus I would not be surprised if that money is being used to pay for his Raiders purchase. 5% of one of the more expensive NFL teams is no joke.

Zero chance Brady gives up that pay unless he is forced and gets paid a large buy out package. From all accounts Fox is happy with him as they plaster his face all over their channel.

From my 3 years of watching the Bucs when Brady was there, their fans really loved the assistant GM. They called him a cap wizard. Is that who the Raiders are hiring?

$37.5m a year is pennies compared to the ownership stake he received and the future opportunity.

Tom and his partner shelled out $240m on a down-round valuation of 2.2b. Fair market valuation for the Raiders is $3.5b. If Davis flips the team, Tom gets $350m....and David isn't making $$ unless Tom is part of the go-forward plan.

I'm calling it...at some point, Tom will own the LV Raiders.

He's owned them since that picturesque snowy evening in January 2002.

Davis have any kids? Is his mother (step mother?) still in the mix or is he the sole owner?

@Pape EDIT- I was wrong on this.

Davis and his mother, Carol Davis, are listed as co-owners of the Raiders and own 47 percent of the franchise. That number would drop if Brady and Wagner’s bid is approved, but the Davis family would remain the principal owners. As of 2022, the NFL dropped the minimum percentage of a team that a longstanding owner must control from 5 percent to 1 percent for teams with the same owner for at least 10 years.

When the late Al Davis became principal owner in 1972, he founded a company called A.D. Football Inc. alongside eight partners. The original eight partners have passed, but their heirs became limited partners.

The Raiders 2024 media guide lists six other “interest holders” in the franchise: A. Boscacci, Jill Boscacci Lovingfoss, First Football, Winkenbach Family, Fox Football and Sargent Family.

Along with Brady and Wagner buying shares, Pro Football Hall of Famer Richard Seymour’s bid to purchase a stake (one worth about 0.5 percent, according to a Sports Illustrated report) was also approved Tuesday.

So Tom has part ownership of a 350mil stake in the Raiders but his 10 year 375mil contract is peanuts? Not to mention the potential marketing earnings he can get from his job the lasts 4 months out of the year.
