Just parroting the Minihane scoop. Nothing has been made official yet even though the SI headline tried to make it sound so.

Where is McDaniels possibly going to leave? He’s flamed out as a HC twice, this is his ceiling. These young buck coaches are much more likely to leave. Look what’s happening to Baker Mayfield in Tampa.

The WRs did just fine in 2021. Guys like Jacobi Meyers and Kendrick Bourne did just fine. WRs not being able to develop is more of a Brady thing than a McDaniels thing. Brady had no patience for dumb mistakes, which will happen with young WRs.

College. No one thought Belichick would do it, and there’s no reason for MacDaniel to turn down a good offer. And if you think Jakobi Meyers and Kendrick Bourne production was “ just fine” then we have different ideas about a productive offense. It took Meyers 3 years to get in the end zone.

Either way, I hate that f*cking offense.

This is a very Belichickian take. He always liked to zig whenever the rest of the field was zagging.

The downside here is that it's harder to draft WRs coming from a college system, and likely also harder to trade for them out of a much smaller pool. And of course the stress on Maye switching to a new system.

Recall McDaniels took Mac and a low-end WR group to something like the 5th-highest scoring offense in the League. So he knows what the hell he is doing and has experience with all manner of QBs.
Plus is Denver he did draft WRs well
So maybe let him have say on WRs.

Does SI ever get scoops wrong?
I don’t think they would quote this unless they did their research?

That offense sux it took 18 years to win 6 SBs. Should have been quicker and 3 or 4 more.

Isn’t it possible that McDaniels could change to a radically different scheme.

I made a little coin on them last weekend but gave it back Sunday. Not sure I can bet them again. Sequan can't be denied.
I haven’t bet on football in a few years but u did win one of my fantasy leagues and come in last in the other.

This isn’t your father’s SI. They’ve gone from the best in the business to a rag in less than 15 years. They’ve done an awful job adapting to the social media era.
