Vrabel's Staff Discussion Thread (Discuss related news here)

Just gut feel. Vrabel waiting till championship game to not distract them.

Chip Kelly willingly gave up HC position so that he can coach players and scheme on offensive side. Doesn't want to do any HC job.

Vrabes from OSU and Chip Kelly and Ryan Day both New England natives and die hard pats fans.

Ability to mesh in and latch on new college concepts thereby helping receivers quickly scale up

And lastly absolutely no josh news means he is out of reckoning .

Rams were eliminated quite a while back.So by now we should have heard about some news around caley or ragone. But zilch.

Connecting dots looks like Vrabel might want to handover reigns to Chip Kelly who can focus completely on offensive play calling and gut feel is AVP might be retained as QB coach along with McCartney.

The Rams were eliminated less than 48 hours ago. Today would have been the earliest they would have talked to anyone on that staff because they still had a long flight back from Philly and Monday to catch up on sleep and say hi to their families.

Ivan its an opinion on a message board. No need to suffer physical symptoms from it. If you disagree I politely suggest you let it go in one ear and out the other or ignore
The angry hyper reactions are un necessary

What is really ironic about this post Sam is that my comment was directed at your never ending anger and negativity regarding every move or non move the Patriots make. I’m really happy about the way things are going and the direction the franchise is heading in, and I really don’t understand how guys like you continue to be negative about everything and anything they do?

What's all this Chip Kelly talk??? He's 61 but looks like he's 75. No thanks!
I'd much rather stick with AVP in a 2nd year of growth, and none of the inept chaos under Mayo.

Also, the impatience and concern over Vrabel's OC interviews shouldn't be an issue.
He's also going through Rooney rule with dignity... and perhaps waiting for another round of playoffs to engage with certain guys. We all know he needs to get these O coaches right. OC, QB coach, WR & RB... they need to mesh too, similar philosophies, so it's not a convoluted mess like last season.
Absolutely agree! Drake needs veteran stability at coaching.. and I would mind AVP being kept as QBs coach or offensive consultant.. but when the front office has to pick the staff this is what happens like they did with Mayo. If Mayo's being honest he'd say he was overwhelmed and in or his head.. so wasn't covington. Drake needs the coaching of Vrabel and McDaniels to take him to the next level.

I do not ever want to make this personal, Ivan. Just enjoy talking pats. What you perceive as anger is really just frustration with the team post Brady.

Most of their targets are already done with playoffs
Yes, MOST of the targets are done with the playoffs.

To me, that means that some of them are not, and that Vrabel will wait.

The Rams were eliminated on Sunday, had to fly back from Philly in a snow storm, and yesterday was a holiday. I am guessing if either Caley or Ragone are going to interview, it won't be until at least the end of the week.

Agree with this. There’s a process teams go through when the season ends. Coaches meet and discuss players and other business, and then they meet with players before sending off for the offseason. So the season doesn’t end instantly for them. And personally I would love to see them raiding the coaching staffs of the final 8 teams.

I read some bs on reddit a while back that said a dudes sister worked at a restaurant and overheard that Vrabel was going to the Patriots and he was taking Chip Kelly with him. Sounded like some serious bs so I didnt say nothing. Would laugh my ass off if it all turned out to be true.

I wonder if Vrabel will take some coaches, or a coach from the Ohio State or Notre Dame staffs.

I just finished the 2-part docu on Jerry Springer on Netflix. Used to watch it in college in the early 90s.
I think that the team should try to bring in players who grew up in the Springer triangle if they want the team to get tougher, LOL

That was crazy!

And the producer says when referring to the fakers, (paraphrasing) "...And these guests were from Boston. I should have known better.".

She overheard wrong. She thought she heard "that Vrabel is bringing the wily honcho Chip Kelly" but what was said was "That table is saying the spicy nacho dip is smelly."

Besides all of that, NFL regulations prohibit interviews with these teams until January 20th (yesterday) anyway. So we are about 24 hours deep into these guys actually being allowed to be talked to. Not exactly time to panic.

Really??

In person interviews. Virtual interviews were allowed, I believe

Looks like Caley to the Jets.
I said Sean McVay is one of the better young Offensive minds in the game. But was crapped on for being infatuated with his Offense: I guess I'm not alone and NFL Teams are too.
