If there's any truth to it, I wonder if maybe it's a situation where Cowden may now handle more of the bigger-picture stuff that might overlap with whatever it was she helped out with, with her going back to her normal duties. From there, maybe he'll handle that, along with being involved in the personnel discussions with Wolf while he continues running the scouting, along with the other stuff. Allows Cowden to get his feet wet and grow into a role there, with the next question being what happens after the draft. Maybe he starts as a #2 and then leapfrogs Wolf as the #1 and is officially given a GM title. Reiss also made a good point looking at the Grier/Pioli situation. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.I agree, Ian. I don't think she was fired.
I do think Bob asked she and Vrabel to chat and figure out how to work together. The result of that meeting was that she is no longer involved as heavily in the football ops side of the business. Her responsibilities were adjusted with a focus on other parts of the Kraft Group.
But I did some digging last night and Breer sort of alluded to the fact her involvement with the football stuff dropped off once the season started, and then there wasn't much about her from that point forward. I still don't understand the ire by people, especially since she'd been with the Krafts and had done various work in the organization for 17 years, and the fact there was someone above her was also a woman who has been here for 50. I mean, we never even heard her name until a year ago...but it is what it is.
