a couple bad games and he goes from Comeback player of the Year to right in the trash heap lol
Not just bad. Brutal, back to back, under the brightest lights.

The question is who was exposed more between Darnold and McCown.

He could be...then again he could not.

Not sure you can judge him on his 2023 in CAR w/ Bryce Young. That was a bad football team.
I just think he's the alternative choice right now to Josh. But probably like Vrabel and BJ, if Josh is interested, he'll probably get the job.

TBH I kinda thought the Vikes were falling back to earth a bit. Overall their schedule was not the strongest.

They lost to DET twice and the LAR twice. They beat the Pack twice by a total of 4 points so 2-4 vs playoff teams.

So who was exposed?.....the whole team, really.

I want to apologize; for doubting Kraft, I didn’t think he had it in him to right a wrong.
But he really did, my only regret is not having Vrabel in place last year for this rebuild.
We might have had a much better draft and free agency.
Ditto
I did not think he would move on after one year. Friendship and money reasons
I was flat out slapped in the face
Not only did he fire Mayo. He did it 90 minutes after the game
Then quickly hired Vrabel which I was thrilled with
Takes a man to admit and rectify his mistakes
Kraft did that

If we lost that game do you think Mayo stays?

The last game.
No and hell no!! He was gone before that game ever started. The statement released by Kraft 1 hour after the game was NOT written right after the game, it was done the night before and had to be reviewed, edited and formatted for release by PR team. No way that all happened in 1 hour.

You think one of the staff told him?

Based on the reports the Krafts had made up their minds by then.

Doubt had crept in in the middle of the season but the Chargers game was the death blow.
I think doubt crept into Krafts mind the instant Mayo called him Thunder in the press conference. Highly unprofessional and not a good look. Then the burn some cash.

It was a disaster from the moment Kraft said "It is my great pleasure to introduce..."

Nope. He ate that up.

Kraft said in his Press Conference on the Mayo firing that the team started to regress after the Cincinnati game. Whether you believe him or not, that's his perception (or delusion).

If you are asking, was Mayo told by staff that there was a statement in the works about him being fired, I think that it is pretty likely. Not 100%, but I would put the likelihood around 75% that word of his firing leaked to Mayo pre-Bufallo game.

Then he should have been gone before the last game ever started.

That wouldn't surprise me.

I don't believe that it was after Cincinnati game, I mean that was week 1...
But the last month or two is probable. Certainly after the Chargers game, who were in a similar boat that we were but hired the right coach, it was blatantly obvious Kraft made a mistake with Mayo.

Might have been written after the San Diego game.
