Gotta vote no, despite the belief that this team will vastly improve and at first glance the schedule seems somewhat easier.. there will be such a tremendous rebuild of this team it will take time for everything to fall in place...

No, OL has been a problem since 2021 season. You can't run and can't protect, you don't win many games.

No but things are so horrendous here that moving the team to 6 or 7 wins might as well be parade worthy.

Vrabel is lucky in that regard.

no, unless there is a roster reset like in 2001, its not going to happen,

I voted No but w/ a good draft, players embracing Vrabel's program, Maye taking a big step in his development, and a solid FA crop it's not out of the realm of possibility.

I'm just looking for improvement - record wise and eye test wise. Would also be nice to be "in the hunt" come December - like sit within a game or two of .500 heading into the last 4, 5 games. After Thanksgiving 5-7, 6-6 would be great. That might be asking alot but we shall see. I think Vrabel's success the first season can be judged more fairly by the eye test vs the record. Vrabel's regime is following one of the worst cadre of coaches in franchise history - shouldn't be hard to look better on the field.

It depends.

How would we feel about the Offense if we signed a #1 and a #2 WR, a starting LT, a swing OT and re-signed Hooper? Yes, we could trade for one of these needs.
========
On Defense, we need to know if Barmore and Bentley are back healthy. And what if we sign 3 top free agents (FS, CB, DT or LB) and drafted either Graham or Carter?

No. Even if they had a dynamite off season they'd still have big holes in the roster. There's no way to fix that in one year.

The first step to making the playoffs is winning the division. The Bills have won between 11 and 13 games a season for the last 5 years. Pats aren't making that jump next year. So you are talking wildcard. Sadly the AFC is loaded with teams competing for wildcard spots. The Steelers, Broncos, Chargers, Bengals all have QB's and better teams. And that's not accounting for teams that also could take a jump that are in the mix like the Dolphins and Colts that are basically above average.

You needed at least 10 wins to make the playoffs this year. There's 10 teams in the AFC that either hit that mark or are within 2 games of it.

Won't happen.

Where I disagree with many of the no votes is on the number of holes they have to fill. I don’t disagree that they have numerous holes to fill, but I believe that they can fill one hole, and in some cases two, and by doing so improve the entire unit. However they have to nail the choices they do make to fix the problem. But if they nail those 1-2 players they change the entire dynamic, and improve all of their options. Example: if they go into free agency and sign Alaric Jackson and Trey Smith their OL would be fixed. They would have Jackson, Strange, Andrews, Smith, and Onwenu as starters, and current starters would be depth. If they signed a veteran DT, like BJ Hill or Jarron Reed the interior DL would be shored up, and they could draft Abdul Carter and have a front of White, Barmore Hill, and Carter. If they trade for Deebo and drafted Egbuka those two would start with Douglas, and the rest would be depth. So by filling one or two holes at the units in most need they could upgrade all those units across the board, they just have to hit on this signings or draft picks.

OL -2 free agents

RB 1 draft pick

WR-2 1 trade 1draft pick.

DT- 1 free agent or draft pick

DE-free agent or draft pick

LB 2 1 free agent 1draft pick

CB 1draft pick re-sign Jones

IF they can nail these additions each unit would improve significantly, and this would make them a playoff team, and they have enough $$$ and draft picks to address each of these and more, they just have to get the choices right.

At WR I mistakenly said one trade one free agent. I meant one trade one draft pick. I edited this to reflect that change.

All this is pending the draft and free agency, but as it stands, with better coaching and plugging some of the holes on the roster, this is likely a team that is competitive for a spot in December.

They have a shot, a puncher's chance, if you will.

To me the expectations for this year are the same as last year, how the team looks at the end of the season is more important than wins and losses. The emergence of Maye and a real coach who is going to provide direction and make the players feel like winning the next game is the most important thing going on in their lives will result in more wins than last year. This team could make the playoffs if the defense recovers to its 2023 level and even average year 1 return on the draft and FA signings. I could also see a scenario where the team stumbles a bit out of the gate and improves as the season goes on so I vote RLKG.

I sure do miss tailgating for playoff games, so for that reason I say Yes.
Also I look at the Redskins not only making the playoffs but winning a game with a rookie QB and a new head coach. If the Redskins can do it with Dan Quinn why can’t the Pats with a 2nd year QB and Mike Vrabel. Last year the Redskins picked second in the draft.

Because they were a QB away from being competitive. There is no core of good players on the Pats. They have to build that core over the next couple of drafts.

Didn't anyone believe what Tedy Bruschi said?

To remind you "There are people in Krafts inner circle who think that they know football"

Why do I get the feeling you just love saying Redskins?

The Commanders have an actual OL. Not to mention a stud WR and a better defense.

Seems people are confusing making the playoffs with making the super bowl.

All the 10 win teams are deeply flawed. A 10 win team doesn't go 10-2. It goes 10-7, which is a couple of unlucky bounces from a losing record. Being 10-7 isn't Everest heights, it's barely above water. You don't build a 14-3 team overnight but 10-7 is certainly doable when you have such an unprecedented amount of positive change.

We already have Maye, now Vrabel replaces one of the worst coaching staffs in history. We have an unheard of, record setting amount of resources to shore up holes and create areas of strength. And we're probably getting the best defensive player in the draft. There's a haul of talent coming in, and nothing going out that wasn't kicked out.

Most importantly "warmth before competence" leadership seminar is out the door and being replaced by actual leadership.

I'm hyped.

I’m guessing they were more than just a QB away if they had the second pick in the draft. The Bucs were a QB away when they signed Brady. I think Washington signed 20 free agents this past offseason.

The Steelers, Broncos, Chargers, Bengals all have QB's and better teams.

You rate SkylarThompson significantly higher than anyone else. After he was signed yesterday he became the only QB on the Steelers 2025 roster. Sure they will sign someone but it's not a foregone conclusion they'll have a winning QB at the helm.
