Will the Patriots Make the Playoffs Next Season?

Voting yes. A whopping 14 out of 32 teams make it. Only dumpster fires ain't even in the hunt come December.

We may get in or not but I'm confident we'll be in the running. I don't know why people think a team needs to plug every hole to be the 7th seed. The resources are there to plug more than enough holes to be competitive.

Probably not. Anything is possible, but they have a long way to go with this roster.

Almost everyone is feeling good about the way things are going, so buy in or not? State your reason for your vote. Public Poll

Who’s on the roster?

I say yes
They won 4 games last year and were within one score in many more games with a horrible team and coaching
This off-season will feel different than last year
We will get good coaches. Players will want to come here. Build the trenches
With a no nonsense coach and more talent around him Maye will play well with an emphasis on not turning the ball over drilled into his head by Vrabel and QB coach
Defense will be much improved
Special teams will once again mean something
Favorable schedule
I’m usually an optimist

No. Even if they had a dynamite off season they'd still have big holes in the roster. There's no way to fix that in one year.

The first step to making the playoffs is winning the division. The Bills have won between 11 and 13 games a season for the last 5 years. Pats aren't making that jump next year. So you are talking wildcard. Sadly the AFC is loaded with teams competing for wildcard spots. The Steelers, Broncos, Chargers, Bengals all have QB's and better teams. And that's not accounting for teams that also could take a jump that are in the mix like the Dolphins and Colts that are basically above average.

You needed at least 10 wins to make the playoffs this year. There's 10 teams in the AFC that either hit that mark or are within 2 games of it.

Won't happen.

There should have been a depends on...category.
I went no, as there are too many holes to fix, but I do think they could hit 8-9 wins based on the schedule and Vrabel's coaching . If they hit it out of the park in FA and the draft than anything is possible !!
Going to be very interesting to see what Vrabel's philosophy when it comes to needs, does he build the trenches first and do with what we have or add an slightly above average WR to the mix, or does he go heavy on offensive playmakers for Maye ?

No shot. Those lines will take more than one season to fix. It should be better, but they're not anywhere near a playoff berth with the talent they have right now.

We won 4 games this year, and 1 of them was GIVEN to us on a platter by an unmotivated Bills team in week 18.

I don't see playoffs in 1 season of Vrabel. However if we improve and get to the 6-8 win range, that will be a good sign of things to come.

We just have too many holes right now and Vrabel has to install a new system and culture for this team. Hoping for the best but gotta be realistic in expectations.

My bad. Didn’t think of it.
I was only here for the white-non-killing-suited LB of years past.

(I do not think NE will be in the playoffs next season )

Hard to say right now, but I’m betting it will be much stronger than this years was.
I’d say I agree with all of these words, minus ‘much’. I hope you’re right, but…

As of right now I expect the Patriots to improve (of course, Captain Obvious; nowhere else to go), but miss the playoffs with about seven or eight wins.

So much can change between now and 365 days later though; we're not even close to the advent of free agency, or seeing other team's cap casualties - and that's before considering the new regime's draft.

I voted yes....I think they plug several holes and is just enough to get them into a fight for a WC spot and then they get to the second round. The combination of new faces and competent coaching will make a HUGE difference....they won't be world beaters but they will be as competent as their coaches....

Also, so what happens if our quitter friend Chuks decides he wants to play this year under Vrabes? Do we have his contract rights? I would not be surprised if we see his sorry ass again if so. Could we get something for him or would he just be cut? He seems interested in blabbing about last years coaching so....who knows...

I actually think they stand a fair chance to make it. The roster is terrible right now but I think there’s going to be a lot of turnover on the roster, the coaching will be much better, the schedule is very soft as it stands now, and there’s a lot of mediocrity in the league.

Also, RLKAG.

12 of our games next year are:

Titans, Giants, Browns, Raiders, Saints, Panthers, Jets, Jets, Falcons, Dolphins, Dolphins, Steelers

I like our chances.

I'd like to be an optimist but there are too many holes on the roster to treat Pats as a playoffs team next season. However I can see a fighting team with let's say 7-8 wins.

I can't vote on this yet, i need to see FA. If Kraft gets off his *** and opens his wallet and they spend 200 or so million $ and get 2 grade A free agents like tee higgins and zach baun plus 4 more top 20ish at thier position level starters then i would say yes. If they just resign thier own and go after grade C FAs so kraft can pocket 40 million.....
