Mccown with a vet passing game type coordinator or some other vet in a position on offense wouldn't be the worst decision
Josh McCown at OC with Ken Dorsey at QB Coach.

I have thought about this also - the biggest beneficiary of Josh McDaniels being hired would be Pop Douglas.
Don't forget Henry or whoever we Draft at TE. We would control the middle of the Football Field again.

Stole my thunder ross... your Exactly right under McDaniels pop would have 90 catches if not more out the slot... also gibby would be a pro bowl level RB as a 3rd down back too!

I'm all set w/ Dorsey.

Yeah I heard him say that. Took him a minutes to say Yeah. Who knows where this is going, McD's offense needs some modernization imo.
That and it needs good players.

Schefter just stated on the Pat McAfee show that Vrabel “is the man” with Eliot Wolf working under him and Cowden as the assistant to Wolf. Just what I needed to hear. Love it. Lets make this team nasty!

Having Drake will be the modernization that he needs. Josh has had a year off he's refreshed.. his last 2 QBs were statue Mac Jones and frail Jimmy G... imagine how he could utilize Drake and his athletic abilities.

And Vrabel agrees to talk up the collaboration with Wolf to keep Kraft happy. Everyone wins.

IMO a key difference is that Bill seemed to work parallel to his scouts and would end up having a different draft board than his front office, and there would be conflict. Whereas Vrabel seems to empower his front office and say "this is what I want, go find it" and he will check in on their work frequently, but at the end of the day they will be doing the scouting and he will use their work as the basis to make decisions.

Something happened with Bill. He may have had his own board, but he'd get it in shape with Pioli and probably Caserio, so they were on the same page. I don't think Bill meshed with Groh as much as the previous guys. We talk about the brain drain on the coaching side, but it was even worse on the personnel side.

Rees has been named OC at Cleveland. Bummer.

McCown might be the best bet then.
