This is really an interesting situation and really will be an interesting QB market in general this offseason that I'm glad we're avoiding.

I don't think I've ever seen a guy put up the statistical performance he did this season and fall apart so quickly in the final couple games. Ghost boy definitely returned this last week.

So what do the Vikings and the rest of the league do with him now? Darnold clearly cost himself millions with the Vikings. Unless they throw the tag on him, I do not see anyway he returns next year. Think it's really a blessing in disguise for them; they can now move onto the QB they drafted and enjoy his rookie contract the next few years.

The good news for Sam is that this is still a very desperate QB market. You have the following teams who will absolutely need a QB this offseason:
Titans
Browns
Raiders
Giants
Jets

Teams that very likely will be looking:
Saints
Colts
Steelers

That is 8 teams without a clear answer at QB. The other viable options this offseason:

Two QB's in the draft: Ward and Sanders

FA QB's/likely to be cut/traded:
Russell Wilson
Aaron Rodgers
Kirk Cousins
Justin Fields

Russ/Fields likely may not even be seen as viable options. So you may be having 7-8 teams bidding for 4-5 options. A team like the Colts might be dumb and desperate enough to pay Darnold big money anyways. Should be interesting to watch

There will be teams interested in Milton, I expect, but they will probably be hoping to get him at a bargain price, and this QB draft really looks weak.

Pats should keep him unless someone overpays. Milton has a lot of value for us over the rest of his contract.

I’m thinking a one year prove-it deal for around 10-15 million. He cost himself generational wealth in the past two weeks. He could’ve been in the $50M/yr $100M guaranteed park but instead he’ll have to settle for being on his 5th team in 8 years.

I normally would agree, but I think this market will get desperate. Definitely won't be a 50m guy, but I think he definitely could be getting a deal like Baker got from Tampa from somebody out there

Aikman was really tough on him last night, it was really interesting to watch from a pure football point of view, not being a fan of the team. Darnold was definitely not up to the challenge of the post season.

Thought we were talking about Darnold?

I don't see anyone paying anything that would be worth trading him away for yet. I wouldn't give up anything lower than a 2 personally. Guy has value here as a backup

Same with Russell Wilson. He is older but was looking like a lock to get a 3 year 100 mill type deal until December hit.

No idea what happens with either of these guys now , I wouldn’t touch either personally if i needed a QB.

Also gotta consider most interested teams wont be surrounding darnold with wr’s like minny had.

Milton is another option for QB needy teams, like Darnold is.

I assume Dalton was a typo.

They drafted JJ McCarthey with the Tenth pick last year, Darnit was suppose to be his backup, but turned out to be a pleasant surprise when MCarthy got hurt. So they still have MCarthy on the roster, so i don't think they'll be looking for a qb

With some many teams needing QB, it could push guys up to be drafted higher than their standing and maybe an early run on QBs helps the Pats if they are looking to trade down. Milroe, Dart and Ewers could all go higher if teams look around and there's nothing out there but over priced over the hill vets. Right now Pittsburgh's QB room consists of Kyle Allen who threw one pass in the last two years. To be fair, it was completion for 19 yards.

Are all redhead QB's alike to you?

Fixed it. Thanks. I guess they are, huh?

Somebody is going after him in this weak QB class. Sam Darnold definitely folded like a pumpkin last night: I feel a guy like humpty dumpty Daboll could turn him around.

The completion “heard round the world”?

Or not

Probably not

OK definitely not.

Sam had a great year. The Rams are playing some great football. Tough game.

He clearly did well under KOC. He should figure out a deal so he can stay there. Don't be greedy.

Didn’t Case Kenum have an amazing season for the Vikings and then wasn’t able to repeat it anywhere else? This feels like that again.
