OT - Goats reunite?

I'm judging this on 2 things: 1 the fact that rumors were swirling early last week and he made it a point to wear UNC blue on his TV show. 2 I assume he did his due diligence on wether he wanted one of these jobs and if there would be mutual interest in him and I assume he used this info before deciding on UNC. And even if something unforseen arose like Brady I still think it would take a lot to get him to break his commitment. Maybe that is enough but I don't think so.
If not for his two sons, Belichick and Kraft would have broken up a long while ago.

Belichick thought he was going to leave it all to a coach like McDaniels or O'Brien who would continue to employ his sons.

Otherwise, he would have been gone after 2019 with Brady.

Plenty of owners would've given up control to him back then.

This is why I think there's little chance he leaves UNC, not with his sons there with him. Steve is ticketed to take over as coach once Belichick steps down.

Not sure how old you are, not my business. That generation and the one after that is not the one Bill coached in ‘85. Add in the NIL and the portal? I have my doubts. I think he lost the locker room with pro athletes, how’s he gonna handle teens and their parents ?
When did he lose the locker room? That team played hard last year, until they found out half the coaching staff was out the door.

Ya but he’s dealing with children and their helicopter parents. At least Bill would be more accustomed to Prima Donna pro players ? I’m sure he’s dealing with parents as we speak , maybe he’s rethinking his plight ?
There's not much to really say to these NIL kids. Belichick is already calling up kids outside the window and getting them to transfer, so he can't really complain if kids complain/parents complain. He's playing the same exact game. There's nothing to really say since money talks these days.

I think any kid who is serious about wanting to go pro is going to drool over the opportunity to play for Belichick. Recruiting for UNC is going to be the easiest job in college football. I believe he will win a championship there, because the talent is going to go there, and no one cannot coach him in a one and done situation, so the college playoff system will be perfect for him.

I have never rooted for any college football team.
I have wasted almost every sat since 1983 .. probly cost me a marriage and a couple of bucks .. but being a Dame fan, I’m sure god forgives me lol

Honestly college ball is better than the nfl. Believe it or not, never watched playoff nfl after Montana that didn’t involve the Pats. No need

Maybe the kid wants to go there , not sure Bill wants to deal with kids at that age ? Who knows ?

BB's ego is not going to let Brady save his ass. The narrative out there now is BB couldn't have done it without Brady. I think they were together the perfect storm but still the narrative is out there .BB couldn't get a NFL coaching job last year and if Brady helps lift him out if the gutter now, well....

He can bring in kids who want to learn, and if the team has success year one, it will send a message out to every good player in college, and every high school in the country where you want to go if you want to make The Show.

He's already crushing the portal. And the NIL was part of him signing on, North Carolina bumped their allotment up huge to get him.

Considering he's been going across the state to different high schools, and doing in-person recruiting in living rooms (like people said he never would), I think it's exactly the age he wants to deal with.

If Bill's team thinks this transition is going to be easy, kinda like the Joe Judge/Matty P Offensive Co-Coordinator fiasco, they're in for a rude awakening. Good luck cracking the AP Top 25 as a middle of the pack ACC team.

True. Saban had a terrible time getting top prospects to go play at Alabama.

Why didn’t the Krafts offer Tom Brady an ownership stake.

Because they're not pandering idiots like Mark Davis. And shame on Brady for being a willing pawn in that turd of a franchise.

Couldn’t disagree more. I think Belichick really does love teaching football, and he will be happier working with kids than he ever was in the pro’s. He will have to adapt to a higher level of frustration, but he will enjoy it more. And I think the kids who go there will learn more about football than they could anywhere else. Even guys who should be in the HOF, like Rodney Harrison, said that they learned more from Belichick than all the football they learned before him. Belichick teaches football differently than most if not all other coaches, in that he runs his practices situationally. He moves them up and down the field throwing out different situations and expecting all he players to know exactly what to do in every situation. I’m sure other coaches are running situations in practices, but Harrison said he had never seen anyone coach like that before, and I’m sure kids going to UNC are going to be saying the same things, and word will spread and the best players will want to go there. It will be a top program within 3 years.

Don't forget - his old man was a college coach... and Bill was around collegiate athletics for his early life. Might be a nostalgic element to this assignment and, of course, simply a chance to do something different.
