Wrong.Jimmy G brought back a 2nd. A 6th round pick heading into his second year with nothing but pre-season and a garbage time game against a the Bills Freshman team is not going to bring back a 2nd, most likely not a 3rd hence why I said a desperate team, so if a team comes knocking with a 4th you take it.
The Bills had numerous starting players on defense including most of their starting secondary on Milton's first 2 scoring drive.
Their starting FS played the entire game and the starting SS played the first half. They had a starting LB play the entire the entire game, they had one of their starting CBs player the first few drives and had their primary backup CB play the entire game.
The veteran dline got the rest but that didn't matter because their young backups were hungry to prove themselves and constantly applied pressure to Milton the entire game. Milton had to scramble and avoid the rush on almost every snap.
So no, this false narrative of Milton playing against scrubs in a meaningless preseason game is BS. The Bills didn't go all out to win but they most certainly didn't just let the Pats walk over them. That defense was trying the entire game.
It wasn't until the 4th quarter the Gibson was able to gain any yardage in the run game. Up until the 4th qtr he was met in the backfield on almost every run attempt and only had one good run after he broke a tackle in the back field
