The Jets are in total rebuild mode now. You can't really make decisions based off fear of them.
That is going to be a long rebuild. They were in "win now" mode as recently as a couple months ago. They are going to be without their 3rd round picks this year and next from the Davante Adams and Hasson Reddick trades. They have a bunch of money tied up in old players and they are going to have to pay Sauce Gardner, Vera-Tucker, and Garrett Wilson this offseason or they will likely force their way out. Maybe they flip one/some of those guys this offseason and go into all tear down mode but as usual that franchise is a rudderless ship.

Imagine if it was a draft with one elite franchise QB.

This year wasn’t as damaging losing the top pick.

Not sure you can squeeze a 2026 1st out of a bad team with the mediocre QBs in the 2025 draft.

We can get a good player at a position if need at #4.
I agree.

The Panthers made a colossal mistake with Young, I don't see teams doing that again.

I did think you could shake down a team with a 2nd rounder around 36-39th, and that would be a nice chip to have, but at the end of the day, the lack of an extra early 2nd rounder isn't make or break.

McVay. Super Bowl LIII. Nuff said.

I see Johnson and Vrabel as similar to McVay and Belichick in that SB.

One is the latest hot wunderkind offensive genius. The other is the gritty old school defensive grinder.

Result speaks for itself in that game. It’s a cautionary tale for those enamored of the bright shiny innovator.
Not a great example at all.

After that game Belichick never won a playoff game again and had 3 losing seasons out of 5 and got fired after his best players ditched him for being stuck in his ways.

McVay won a SB a few years later, won 5 playoff games and only had 1 losing season and is still going strong and won his division.

That Super Bowl is going to viewed as the last gasp of the old lion before the young lion went on to the next level. No franchise would pick Belichick over McVay after that game with the benefit of hindsight if they were both options to be their coach.

Not sure what you are saying.

Daboll went 9-7-1 in his first year with Daniel Jones the QB, and won a playoff game.
Someone suggested he should have benched jones and gone 6-11.
I’m saying that would have been his best season anyway.
In other words he sucks.

Where are the Rooney rule candidates ?
Saleh and Rivera should be on the list. This is a stupid rule and should be removed. If a coach is good they will be interviewed and hired like Tomlin , demeco Ryan's etc. only criteria is credibility, experience and how they perform in interviews.
whoever want the interview on his resume and whoever might want a coordinator job for us

Yup. It was pretty apparent that Rodgers was the either going to get them over the hump or they'd have to blow it up. Whoever is the Jets HC is going to have to deal with a complete and total ****show the first year while they clean house and redo their entire roster.

Listening to Boomer Esiason discuss Milton and compare him to Shadeur Sanders made it sound like Sanders was not a particularly superior prospect.

In other words he sucks.

He's coached three years and in one of them he led the least talented team to win a playoff game during this time.

He was stuck with the suckiest quarterback, really a worse roster here considering that. And he was stuck with the QB only because of his early success. Daboll's developed the WR well. Give him a QB, any QB, and he'll compete in that division.

Is Daboll at the level of Campbell, Oconnell, Harbaugh's, McVey, top tier guys? No, but neither is Vrabel IMO. But both Daboll and Vrabel are as good or even better coaches as many playoff teams currently have, even ones who have a real chance of winning it all.

He doesn't suck at all. He's just not elite.

Daboll is terrible. He has been terrible everywhere he has been except for a couple of years in Buffalo.
The Giants have gotten steadily worse under him.

Nothing suggests he is as good as playoff coaches other than your subjective statement.

Daboll would have done just as well as McDermott, if given the same chance. He's a better coach than Todd Bowles.

Yes that's subjective. Every opinion is subjective. You think what you say is correct, but you are often wrong too.

You need some level quarterback to be judged on record. Daboll has never had a chance, yet he's still has won a playoff game..

Not everything is subjective, there is evidence to back up viewpoint
Dabolls track record is bad. He had a couple of good years with Allen but Allen has also done better without him

These are the rankings of his offenses (OC,HC)
Total off.: 32,29,22,24,30,24,2,5,18,29,30
Scoring: 29,31,20,32,30,23,2,3,15,30,31
That is awful. Are you saying he should get a pass for 9 of his 11 years?

McDermott has made the playoffs 7 out of 8 years he has been a HC.

Sure every opinion is subjective but some line up with facts and others contradict them

I agree, I think our biggest weakness was on D. If he is the best pass rusher available between the draft and free agency it needs to be considered.
Ubless you think Tet is Mike Evans, and Hunter is Justin Jefferson.
I don’t think there is a online worth taking at 4.
I personally think Tet is gonna be at best a mediocre fail.
Just a thought.

I could be WAAAAAAY Wrong, and I'll admit it.

I think Sanders will be as good as his Father Tackling.
Weak.

People are aware of this information without your help.

What we don't know is how Daboll would do with a matured QB like Josh Allen. Oh wait!

Once again there is no thinking out of the box.

Kraft is cheap.

Lots of comments from players on Ben Johnson as an offensive guru

Lions RB Gibbs: "The stuff he comes up with every game is crazy," Gibbs said. "You don't see really stuff like that, only if you're in college. In college, they have all of those explosive plays and stuff basically."
  • Lions WR Jameson Williams: “He’s a mastermind on the offensive side of the ball. And I’m pretty sure he’d find somebody to take care of the defensive side.”
Lions RB Montgomery: Oh yeah, he’s a genius, knows a lot, teaching me a lot,” Montgomery said. “I’ve only been here for a short period of time, but I’ve learned so much about defenses that I hadn’t know, and me being in the league for four years that I’m learning now. Really smart guy, definitely lucky to be able to be in his offense.
  • Lions WR Tim Patrick: “He comes up with things that you don’t really think about, but he’s also open-minded to listen to guys that have been here that have input. He finds a way to make it work. A coach that listens to his players but also puts his own touch on it, that’s hard to find.”
Lions WR St. Brown-praised Johnson’s tireless work ethic and strategic mindset, stating, “I think what they don’t see is the amount of work that he puts into his craft. He’s up dissecting defenses for hours on end. Honestly, I don’t know if the man sleeps.” The thing that Ben does that’s so great is he’s not trying to set up a play during a game, he’s setting it up weeks before.”

Bears QB Caleb Williams: It was fascinating to watch because he had wrinkles for counters and things like that throughout the game," Williams said of Johnson's game plan vs. the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night, via The Athletic. "I think he's obviously done really well. So it would be cool to see how that all goes down."
I want Vrabel first
I would still be happy with Johnson

Both are good options that promise to be better than Mayo. My hang up is that I have no idea what criteria the Kraft's are using to make this choice. Last time it was based on how he chose his wives. Funny that RKK chose the crazy hot one for last, LOL. The reality is that they don't have the ability to choose based on football knowledge. So how are they going to make the choice?
Unfortunately After the fallout of Mayo
Robert will go with what HC that will stabilize the fanbase
After seeing a half filled stadium with half of them fans from other teams
Fans wearing bags on their head, booing the team and their HC
Kraft will make a choice to protect his investment over hitting a home run
As I have stated
I like Vrabel and BJ
I hope they give BJ a fair chance
If he blows FP them away I’m fine with that
But in the end I think it will be Vrabel and I’m fine with that choice also
A mountain more happy than when they hired Mayo
