What is going on with this jets coach seach

Rex Ryan, Arthur Smith, Matt Nagy, Vance Joseph

Are they trolling??

The bears have stable ownership a stacked offense.
We have Drake Maye and a lighthouse.
We could lose out here.
Bears ownership is anything but stable. It’s been widely talked about that the Bears ownership can be a deterrent for them attracting the right coach.

Why will Ben Johnson choose us over bears or jags.

Jags -- great weather, no taxes, lots of foundational pieces , very easy division.

The only draw I see for us is if Johnson views Maye as a top 5 QB in league and wants an empty canvas on which he can paint whatever he wants and give the thrill of working in a start-up. There is too much to do for us here. Saving grace - we have huge cap space, but sadly free agents class is not great. Unless she wants to cement his legacy as the coach who won a Superbowl by inheriting mess created by Bill and mayo. That's a huge leg up.
Ownership

It’s been talked about how the Jets, Bears, and Jags ownership is viewed around the league and that a qualified coach wouldn’t want to hitch their wagon to these teams.

Fans may get on the Krafts, but they are viewed as solid, stable owners in the NFL. We don’t have the the 17 year old son making decisions based on Madden or Shad Khans kid at the draft in a neck brace after taking a pile driver at a wrestling event.

Milton being here might allow Johnson to devise some crazy tandem plays involving both maye and Milton .

We are top 3 in terms of desirability and number 1 for Vrabel.

So my guess is it's Johnson as choice 1 and Vrabel as choice 2.

I honestly can't remember an HC candidate as hyped as Ben Johnson is this year. The closest I can think of is Andy Reid when he got let go from Philly. Anybody remember others?
Bobby Slowik had a good amount of hype last year, I thought. Your right though not as much as Ben Johnson.

Based on the personal connections Johnson has and chatter online the possible "rumored" staff for Ben Johnson

HC/OC: Ben Johnson
DC: Lou Anarumo- 2015 Dolphins staff with Johnson
GM: Ray Agnew-Lions assistant or Lance Newmark-Commanders #2

Agnew obviously with the Lions now, Newmark spent 26 years in Detroit before leaving last year

Bengals went from 26 to 23 to 12 to 9th in defense Lou's first 4 years but been back to 26 last 2 years though they spend all their money on offensive talent and drafted poorly on defense.

Vrabel rumors I've seen are

HC: Vrabel
OC: McDaniels or Tommy Rees
DC: Not sure, saw Saleh on some speculation but since Vrabel interviewed for Jets job I would doubt Saleh is the guy.
GM: Ryan Cowden

I have not heard any real sources confirming any Vrabel assistants though multiple sources say he has assistants lined up already.

Tommy Rees would be Vrabels OC
