Do you think Robinson is supposed to do that? He has no clue what to do. That’s coaching.
Again I’ll say show me good discipline, technique, improvement and I’ll say they are coached well. But all 3 are terrible across the board.

And yes Wolf totally failed at this as well as other positions but the cos hung is bad too. Getting better players and not improving the coaching won’t get you there and I refuse to accept “worked for someone I think is good” as proof of being good.

I don't disagree that we need better coaching, but what should Robinson have done when the Center snapped the ball too soon? Should he have ran backward and chased guys on their way to the QB. How would you have coached that up?? You are super quick to point out when people are doing it wrong but I have yet to hear how you would coach em.

Am I alone in worrying about Drake Maye’s health and psyche? Guy is not surrounded by near enough talent. The Bolts gave him a beating.

Considering the severity of his injury and long layoff, it was an encouraging performance by Strange

Just remember that Strange's pattern is inconsistency. He'll throw out a great game against an all-pro defender then lay an egg against a third string backup. We need to see more before declaring "problem solved".

I agree that he definitely needs to play consecutive games to feel that he is a good option at center. The frustration with him at G was that he struggled with bull rushers. I don't remember his issues to be inconsistency related.

This is true! Love Andrews, and the locker room desperately needs him. However, his injuries and already being undersized, have shown up more as he ages. I'd hate to mess around with Strange in TC at Guard or something just to put him in the lineup, if he's really the best option at Center moving forward. He's a 1st round pick for a reason - athletic, strong, smart - and still young (will be 27 for next season). Andrews will be 33.

Completely agree on not doing anything to possibly hamper figuring out Strange’s area of best use going forward. I should have noted something along those lines in my prior post.

My point is there’s no loss in keeping Andrews on the last year of his deal assuming he’s a good soldier (why wouldn’t he be?) and shows a worthy backup at the least. Can address that in camp. They’ll have the money and won’t be pressed against the cap, and there will not be 53 guys ahead of him on this weak roster.

He’s overpaid as the RG as it is.

New regime will need to play hardball with him. Should be clauses in his contract to do so.

Big Mike needs to be put on notice that showing up to camp fat and out of shape will cost him.

I was listening to Hoyer bring something up that I had not considered. He said that in this offense the QB takes a 5 step drop out of shotgun and that it puts the QB so far back that it puts added pressure on the OTs to block the faster edge guys. Hoyer relayed a story that Joe Thomas told him if you are less than 10yards from the LOS I got you but if you go past 10 yards you are on your own. It was on Currans podcast if anyone wants to watch it.

The OL truly looks less polished than a college product. They are the undebatable worst of the league in literally every aspect. When your OL is 32 in both pass and run, you're fielding an offense that cannot pass or run effectively at all. You have no offense. I don't even think a great WR addresses this, as some think it will. And that is a massive indictment of the coaching.

I would try to sign 3 players this offseason for the OL.

Steelers LG James Daniels
Jets RT Morgan Moses

I would let DAndrews go at C and give the job to Strange. Ideally you'd keep DAndrews as a backup/mentor, but I doubt he'd want to play that role and he deserves the opportunity to pursue a starting job elsewhere if we want to go with a younger player here.

Run with an OL of: Jackson/Daniels/Strange/Onwenu/Moses

Robinson and Wallace haven't been anything resembling day 1 stars, but I do see some level of promise with them. The way Onwenu's deal is structured, I think next year will be his final year here. Moses is a short-term solution at RT. The idea would be that Robinson/Wallace can be groomed behind the scenes to potentially step in for those guys later, without needing to be relied on as starters for 2025.

Strange seems to have some promise at C, so I'd give him a year to see if we have anything there. Daniels has been primarily a LG, but has played some C too. He's coming off an Achilles injury so he might not be ready to start the year, which would open up some playing time for Robinson at LG to start the year. Daniels' versatility to fill in at C gives you some contingency plans down the line too.

Jackson isn't a stud at LT, but he's serviceable. He'll be going into his age 27 season next year. Use your cap space to give him a big 2 or 3 year deal where he can hit free agency at a (relatively) young age again and make a ton more money if he maintains or even improves his level of play. The LT options in the draft don't seem to be great so not sure we can lock that spot down there like everyone wants. I doubt we're turning this thing all the way around in a year so we should still be picking in the top 10-15 range next year or have potential to move up there for a "franchise LT" type if there's a guy we like. Continue to mine the draft for a high end solution here, but this is solid improvement for now.

We have tons of cap space and not much to really worry about re-signing off our own roster. No reason why we shouldn't be able to make strong runs at these 3 players.

I have always been in the camp that interior pass rush is more important the edge rush. I have buddies that are college coaches and they told me they tend to try and recruit stud inside pass rushers and just get alright edge rushers when given the choice.
