NO FOLKS NOT CURRENTLY IN THE ORGANIZATION ARE ALLOWED TO BE DISCUSSED, THIS IS THE CURRENT SITUATION WE ARE DEALING WITH.
Any ******** will be DELETED, FULL STOP.
I'd like a NORMAL discussion, without Hatred towards each other, our opinions are all different, and THAT is the point.

I'm assuming MOST of us are adults, fkn ACT like it please.
This discussion will not be EZ with the Heavy Restrictions.

Shall we move forward?

If I'm understanding the thread correctly, I'd say the current leaders are the older veterans like Hunter Henry and Deatrich Wise Jr., David Andrews, Jon Jones (last players of the 2nd Dynasty minus Henry).

The two young players who will have the torch passed to will be Drake Maye and Christian Gonzalez.

This discussion is MOSTLY (but not ALL) About the LEADERSHIP, IOW Front Office/Coaching.

THIS is going to be a discussion about the WAY FORWARD- IN OUR OPINION, as Real PatsFans(PATS FANS), not people that don't care.
Just a discussion , between Adults, without arguing about every single thing.

Just A Thought, and I foresee it being a tough discussion without people arguing and beating each other up.

front office? we have people in positions of power. I currently see no leadership in the front office. The leader of the front office should be Robert Kraft. What I see now is a guy who is afraid to pull the trigger on correcting his mistake in hiring the current coach. Where is the guy that fired BB? I want that guy back. The guy who isn't afraid to make a hard decision. Letting the current power structure remain in place is not making a hard decision. Its an unwillingness to not admit a mistake was made.

players? Maye might emerge as a leader next year. He was buried too deep for too long to become a leader/captain.

David Andrews I always thought of as a leader by example. A regular Joe who worked hard. Played to the best of his ability. Re-signed at a reduced rate because of "unfinished business". Same with Hunter Henry. Guy plays hard. I really like what he brings to this team. Hope he stick around for a few more years. Ja'Whaun Bentley - man I cannot say enough about this guy. He is home grown talent who quite literally developed into a player. Reminds me of the grit and determination that old school guys like Bruschi had. Kyle Dugger may have lost a step, may have not based on the ankle issue. Another defensive guy with a leads by example attitude.

Outside of those four? not sure...

and unfortunately, 2 of those 4 guys were lost for the season.

I don’t think any of them belong.
We had a 4-13 team with epically bad Qb play costing numerous wins that just pretty bad Qb play would have won. Improving was a low bar.

We had $100,000,000 to spend. Every single one of our FAs that we wanted, we signed. We added the qb so after round 1 and before spending any of the 65, 000,000 left the team was better.
What we did with those resources and how they were coached and developed made us the worst team in the NFL and we did not improve at all on a bad 2023.

GM, HC, OC, DC were all doubted that they were legitimate candidates and they all turned out worse than expected.

We have the QB, and we should get a bonanza of picks. We have 130,000,000 to spend and virtually no one becoming a free agent to take up any of those $$.
We may have the greatest amount of assets with which to improve the team that any team in NFL history has had in one season.

I believe we had the worst offseason in memory last year.
This is a watershed moment. What we do with this off-season will probably affect at least the next 5 years, given the amount of resources we have.

I cannot imagine putting the same crew in charge of next off season and then season that authored this.

Additionally, we have 8 games next year against teams that have 5 or fewer wins. The potential to turn it around NOW is enormous.
We have the QB
We have more resources than anyone ever
We have an easy schedule next year.

The front office and coaching staff need to be blown up.

Best of luck to ya'. Will check back to see how well this approach worked.

Regarding leadership, in my experience, there will be a few guys that have emerged in this dark period for the team, and the other team members know who they are. We don't. Then there will be another handful that will respond well to the next management/administration, whenever that happens. (I'm assuming the least likely outcome of all this is that Mayo et al keep the jobs and things turn around. I'd love it, of course, but figure the odds on that are the lowest of all the outcomes).

Yeah, I get it. TBO, I never thought the big players would sit down like Men.

Even the possible leaders like Wise & Henry leave something to be desired. I think Maye will be a leader of this group, but I don’t see leadership coming from any of the other first / second year players.

I hope the GM chooses wisely in April : talent, desire & accountability.

Before the mess with Peppers I would have put him as a leader as he usually sets the tone with the thumpings, but his off field situation puts him at the back of the bus. Maye, Andrews, Wise, Bently and Henry are the current leaders (None of which are on the level of Brady, Bruschi, Harrison and Slater). I think Gonzalez has the talent to be accepted as a leader but he is too soft spoken and laid back. He is not a Rodney Harrison type of guy.

As for the organization from owner down to the water boy I don't currently see anyone I would label as a leader. There are managers and there are leaders, we have some managers and that's it.

Can you please define what you want this thread to even be about? You said "any ******** will be DELETED, FULL STOP", but the only people who can do that deleted would be us mods, and we have no idea what this is supposed to be. Seemed like you tried once, but I'm still not really clear.

The OP word salad was confusing, but I’ll take a stab:

On-field leadership-

Drake, Hunter. That’s my entire list.

I’ll go further and say that if the Pats can dump Dugger, Onwenu, Godchaux for ANY pick’s while also dumping salary they should. None are leaders, none have lived up to the $$.

I would also put Mondre in that discussion but you only dump him if the staff stays mostly intact. He is useless in AVP’s system.

Defensively, I’d keep Gonzo. He’s literally the only “untouchable” player for me on that side of the ball. Anyone else can go if you can upgrade them…and you should.

Now…personally, I’d clean out the entire organization from coaches to front office.

None of it has been good enough outside of maybe Bicknell as the TE’s have actually been decent. But I’m not dying on a TE Coach hill.

What do I BELIEVE Kraft will do?

Very little.

I suspect AVP is gone, along with a bunch of offensive position coaches while the Defense remains largely intact outside of maybe the D line coach.

Also believe they do nothing in the front office besides replace any scouts who leave.

I think we should clean house and hire Vrabel.

Can I get a definition of a leader, please? And also, how women think? Any BS answers will get the poster DELETED.

Worst intro of a thread, evah!

How would we have an open exchange of opinions without disagreement?
There are many options available and not everyone is going to agree about all.
Why are opposing viewpoints considered heinous?
