No, we need a new GM give them full power and let them hire the Hc.

Since I am in Jupiter, I am really thinking of finding Bob at the Handy J place and be like dude give me GM on one year contract and I won't take any money.

I will use the brain power at Patfans to run the draft and I guarantee you that our results will be 10x better than the idiot wolf.

Hard to argue that.

Btw, I live in Cambridge (unless in Jupiter) now and it's sad on the lack of sports bars...

If anyone has good recommendations, send through dm. Thx.

Alright @Wax Frog, I see your popcorn. What say you on the matter?

What was clear to me at the time is that they didn't trade Garoppolo when they could have, at the end of the 2016 season, after he'd looked capable of running an NFL offense for a game and a half. Instead, they traded him at the last minute for much less than they could have expected before the 2017 draft.

The guess I had at the time was that Belichick thought he had some kind of agreement with Brady that he would bow out at the top with a Super Bowl triumph and a giant F-you to Goodell and Deflategate, but that Brady changed his mind after the 28-3 triumph. Perhaps Brady had wanted to go on all along and Belichick was trying to get him out against his will.

Whatever it was, it was a sorry ending to a great partnership -- the more so because, once Garoppolo had been traded, Belichick didn't go all in drafting quarterbacks so the Pats were left with nothing better than the shell of Cam Newton. The Guerrero stuff seems to have been a piece of petulance on BB's part to get his own back on Brady.
There was no need to trade the backup, and they were never going more than the 2nd they got for him. I don't understand this thinking. You believe they could've traded him for a #1? Based on what?

This is the first time I ever heard anyone write anything about an agreement with Brady. It actually makes no sense to me. We do know from Lynch that he called Belichick in that time frame and that Belichick laughed at the idea of trading Brady.

Two good reasons Belichick didn't draft another QB is because Kraft seemed to throw a fit at preparing the team for another QB and Brady also was adamant about getting more support, which lead to things like trading for Mo Sanu, etc. You really think Belichick was going to relive the whole experience after Kraft believed a study showing QBs in decline was evidence that Belichick wanted to get rid of Brady? Kraft's reaction to Belichick's post-Brady preparations is hard to fathom.

Lastly, how do you blame the Guerrero stuff on Belichick's petulance. Even noted Belichick hater Amendola said that the move undermined the coaches. Guerrero was advising players to ignore the coaches. Brady was practically crying in the Dynasty when he was talking about the banning of Guerrero. It was the only real time Brady showed a lot of emotion in the entire documentary.

That was telling.

1. We had an outside advising players to avoid the coaches.
2. The outsider was banned by the HC, a move that even disgruntled players understood as proper.
3. The guy who was banned happened to be Brady's best friend.
4. Kraft went over Belichick's head and reinstalled Guerrero not caring at all how it would undermine the coaches.
5. When asked about this, Brady gets visibly angry during the documentary.

This tells me a lot about what was going on behind the scenes.

The article came out Jan 5 2018. Sorry but your timeline is not correct. I am not going to go over it once again (and it is off topic here). But, at that point, it was already a 4 year drama in the making. And it was not necessary to get a ESPN article to see it. It all started at the 2014 Draft, after BB drafted Garoppolo. Go back to BB press conference. Talking about TB age and contract situation. It all started there (by the way TB talked about it in one the tv series that come out - dont remember which one).
Well, the Wickersham article was proven wrong by John Lynch anyway. So the idea that Belichick wanted Brady out has never been shown especially since Lynch tried to trade for Brady and Belichick laughed at him.

The crazy thing is you have fans simultaneously blaming Belichick for not preparing for life after Brady and also vilifying him for preparing for life after Brady.

Kraft is absolutely crazy to take offense at the study Belichick showed him.

Do you know how old Montana was when they brought on Steve Young to replace him? Montana was 31. Bret Favre was 35 when they drafted Aaron Rodgers.

Brady was 37 and would be 38 before the start of the season!!!!! If you're not preparing for life after your 38 year old QB, that's GM malpractice. This stuff is absolutely crazy.

Bob likes his binkies.

That 1) I think your last premise likely and 2) it will perpetuate Dr.Kraft's New England Browns Rub'n'Tug Bologna & Chips Clown Show for at least one more glorious season. 3) My gut says Jr. taking over will just result in a different kind of clown show.

Think of popcorn as shorthand for my avatar.

Eagles offensive line helped an older RB break the freaking rushing title this season. Also BOTH backup QBs looked amazing today. Pats need to draft and develop along both lines. Eagles are even developing linemen who haven't played football before. Remember those days?

It’s their coach Southland pry the best o line coach in the business since scar retired.

Now if he can just learn to be where Drake expects him to be after separating.
DD has a 76% catch rate, 3rd highest out of all WRs who played at least half a season. I guessing you're saying that because of that one play, but I'm gonna blame the rookie on that one.

4 time All Pro Lane Johnson was picked 4th overall. Becton 11th. Jurgens and ****erson in the 2nd. Mailata in the 7th.

The 2nd rnd WR curse is real (Ladd prob would've been ruined by going here). Get Tackles. Protect the Franchise (who broke his INT streak - yay!).

40 to 7. Now that's simply embarrassing.

Maye clearly has no help.

I didn't think we were going to beat the Chargers obviously. But this is a blowout loss of epic proportions.

Will this finally motivate Kraft to make a change in the offseason?

This team is clearly going nowhere.

Buffalo having nothing left to play for on week 18 does concern me though. I'm thinking we still lose to their second stringers to ensure that #2 overall pick.
Well, their 2nd stringers may have more to play for than their starters did the last game.

It took decades for Daniel Snyder and John Gruden’s email buddy, Bruce Allen, to significantly diminish the value of Washington football franchise.
I live in DC area.

It was Dan Snyder.
