Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

How many years of poor ownership do we have to endure before fans are entitled to speak out? I see you feel entitled to tell everyone when we are allowed to speak up. Are you also going to dictate which aspects of his ownership can be questioned? You’re setting the bar, right?

Nah, you aren’t. Everyone is free to say whatever they want whenever they want. You aren’t shutting anyone down with your pathetic shame game. Your argument is so weak I almost skipped replying, but it’s Christmas so consider this my gift to you.

Bob Kraft lost all good will when he ran TB12 out of town and appointed an unqualified, stupid sycophant as HC of the Patriots. He should sell the team, because it’s clear he is putting his ego above the good of the team. Jared Mayo is not an NFL head coach. After he loses this job, he will never be HC of another NFL franchise, not even a DC. Bob Kraft installed this guy to take over for BB, to be better than BB. Bob is delusional, not I.
Or he could be a much better coach after the learning curve this year and we win a bunch of games and get into the playoff hunt. This year is a disaster but that doesn't mean the future is also. RK isn't ever selling the team, once he's gone Jonathan will take over so we might as well get used to it no matter how much you want him to sell. Lancerman isn't wrong with his assessment.

How many years? The Jets have had the same ownership for a quarter century and have been dreadful. The Browns have been bottom dwellers ever since 1996 and their current owner just hired a sexual assaulter and gave him a guaranteed contract and had all the women in his family come out to say they trusted him. The Patriots won a SB 6 years ago and made the playoffs as recently as 3 years ago. So yes you come off as incredibly entitled.

Anyways the guy who ran TB12 out of town got fired last year.

He's not selling the team and demanding it just makes you sound completely out of touch. Enjoy your Christmas.

It’s a learning curve, not a learning step or jump.

So far Mayo has shown a learning line. As in, he is flatlined.

If you think he’ll improve after we win a lot of games and get into the playoffs you’re facing a chicken and egg situation with a coach who laid an egg in his first year and has chickens coming home to roost that are losses not wins, and no playoff appearances. TL;DR: doomed to perpetual disappointment.

It’s hilarious that Mayo singled out the TE’s for praise as the “ unit” that got their job done right. The moment I saw the headline I knew it was the TE’s, because there’s only 2 of them.

Not saying it's going to happen just that its and outside shot of maybe happening. That said would I rather have Vrabel and Josh, sure but it's not going to happen.

Mayo ALREADY is talking about making player and assistant coach evaluations for NEXT season. This guy is too smug and self-assured, there's been no sense of urgency from him all year. Makes me wanna puke.

AVP also said he will be back next season.
Expect the whole group back aside from some assistant coaches being replaced.

I think they have to bring AVP, Mayo, Wolf and maybe Covington back. If you start pulling any string, it becomes impossible to replace them with any qualified candidate because they won't want to work for/with the others.

What I expect to happen next season is Mayo starts blaming Wolf for the groceries. Wolf starts blaming Mayo for the progression of the players. And each plays to Kraft's favor. One will get fired. Then we'll have a year of Mayo with a new GM or Wolf with a new coach. And when that doesn't work, the remaining one will get fired and we'll be stuck with the new coach or GM they hired.

I'm afraid this is just the way things are trending. So we can look for a few more years of disfunctional wandering rather than actual rebuilding.

Yeah. It seems like, historically, a franchise has to go through a lot of bad before they turn the whole thing over to a Shannahan or a Harbaugh-like level of coach.

That's his specialty. Peddling some perceived payoff in the future. "Don't look now, things are going to be much better next year." Then next year they win 6 games and he does a victory lap while peddling the next season.

Especially if you keep giving the bad 2-3 years out of some misguided sense of that being the right thing, as the Jets typically do.

Kraft probably thinks he can sell a 6 win team next year as tremendous improvement as well.

We are going to suck regardless of who our coach is next year so I'm not really too hung up on it. The GM absolutely needs to change though.

The fact that Kraft fired Bill but kept everyone else in the room is so mind boggling that I can't comprehend it.

His legacy is cooked.

Why do we want to keep a GM who has a bad track record, and hand him a top 3 pick in each round to see if he doesn’t blow the picks?

Why give him that valuable an asset to evaluate his performance on?

The sad thing is is that it's not even in every round.

Some dude tried telling me that SOS is the obvious tie breakers and I was a moron for not understanding it and yet the NFL doesn't even have it outside the first round.

Currently we have the 6th pick in the second round, the 5th in the third and the 4th in the third.

Considering how badly Wolfe ****ed up our second rounder last year that is horrendous news.

Well, and they'll complicate it by only firing the HC or the GM every other year but keeping the other one, so they're rarely on the same page.

I truly think so as well. He will be remembered as a meddling, cheap pervert who rode Bill/Brady's coattails unless he has a MASSIVE course correction in the next couple years (which I do not expect). He's gonna die on the Wolf/Mayo hill, and so will his franchise.

Nah, I think in 20-30 years, people will only remember the winning years. Same with Bill and Brady. People only remember the winning years for Walsh and Lombardi.

Oh, the six SBs for sure allot Kraft a massive amount of goodwill, and deservedly so. Kraft aint no Jerry Jones. But unfortunately he's doing everything in his power post Brady to piss on his previously immaculate, almost god-like (in the NE area) reputation. If he would just hire a competent and qualified FO/coaching staff and open his goddamn wallet this could all change.

I guess. I live in the DC area and when people talk about the Redskins, all they talk about is the Gibbs SB-winning teams. People prefer to talk about the winning, which I think will be Kraft's legacy no matter what he does now.
