Carry Baker. LOL Are you in a wheelchair needing to walk again?
Even then I'd still be in need, lol

For real though, if I had to pick one of Baker or Polk I would pick Baker. He gives me more on special teams and I think he has a higher ceiling if he does eventually develop. As a 6th guy that's all I can really ask for.

On a team with an excellent RB, a good TE, and a very good WR1, you could win with Boutte as WR2.
Thats where some of scouts projected him.

He played the TD perfect never looking back for the ball.

If anyone liked Polk they don't know a good WR prospect because Polk was a horrible prospect and worse professional. Even worse than N'Keal. Wolf personally picked Polk. Wolf has no idea what he is doing.
Yes he selected him because of the coach on the staff that was at Washington... I mean what 79 yards and he's been out there all season. Even N'Keal Harry did more that than wich isn't ****!

I think Boutte can be a solid to number 2 outside receiver. Next year is key, will he take a jump? I consider this year his real rookie year and year 2 jump is a real thing.

-He’s been covered by the best CB on the other team most games, yet still produces some plays.
-He’s 22 years old
-He’s had a small amount of time to work with Maye
It seems like Boutte has rapport with Maye.

The TD was all timing.

???

More second guessing

Boutte was a shot in the dark, and an incredibly good job of scouting by a scouting group that is terrible (so say we all). He was drafted where most had him, same as Douglas, another shot in the dark.

If Boutte and Douglas are our two of our contributing WR's next year, that will be excellent drafting and development.

A horrible prospect that was projected to go in the late second round

As always, at least half this board had their favorite, but we should not make believe that Polk was anything but a prospect that was expected to succeed as a #2 WR. Serval teams showed interest in drafting him late in the round. But, yes, Polk was drafted too earlly because he is WR, but not because of his projected lack of talent.

Wolf should have drafted BPA, as I have said before, clearly a defensive player, a DB or a DT.

have a bit of fun

Google :evaluation of Polk the day after he was drafted.

You will find many, many positive evaluations of a player many think should have been drafted later in the seceod round.

Olave is a good player, but he's probably 1 big hit away from retirement.

You draft BPA because you are trying to find starters, not certain position players. Teams that draft for position have less draft success. In the case of Hunter, he will be BPA and at a position of need.

Did you just say if we had to pick between bust and failure, you prefer failure?

By Bill Belichick no less...

I'm not opposed to Hunter, as long as we and he are in agreement on position. He is certainly a potential all-pro at either position. Personally, I think that 18-20 games seasons SHOULD mean that a player concentrates on one side of the ball.

Yes, I have seen that Marcus can play WR a few plays a game. I think that it a travesty that he is our best choice in these situations, but I realize that he is. Signing Holland or one of the other top safeties and drafting Hunter would give us a very powerful secondary. And yes, I know that this would mean that we had signed Higgins AND another WR. And yes, Hunter would play a few plays on Offense.

Sure, you draft to find starters. Polk was expected by most to be a starter. Not all WR's, OT's or anything else is a starter as a rookie. Are even have of player picked from 20-50 good starter ever?

As I have agreed with you, we need to draft a stud in the top 10. This could be done by drafting Hunter, or if we trade down a few picks, especially if a QB is available.

I'm not totally giving up on polk.. but in a season where the offense is looking for playmakers he had a great opportunity as a rookie. He'll have to really have a great offseason and training camp.. to avoid going down bust road.

No, read the scouting reports.

Some said that Boutte was not a # 1 like Jamar Chase but had the tools to be a # 2 WR.

The Pats waste 6 round picks like drunken sailors spend money. What shot in the dark. Boutte was a goner early this season.

Boutte dropped from round 1 because of injuries and a poor combine.

Its only 1 great game vs a terrible Buffalo defense, but I will take what I can get.

7 targets - 5 receptions = 71% catch rate.

The patriots Wr’s are so abhorrent that a 5 rec for 95 yard day is being celebrated in its own thread like it’s Oktoberfest.

I think with WRs those guys have to have a certain mentality I remember Brady said that about his WRs one time.. it's a mentality they have to have even #4s like boutee
Yes that bravado is a real thing. Unfortunately BB preferred his WR’s to be choir boys and band camp organizers

Baffling pick at the time. Taking a guy who wasn’t even the #1 receiver on his team in college.

Trade down and draft who? It is a very weak draft. Sounds nice, but the devil is in the details. Who are you trading down to draft?
