Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

Taking a top 10 defense last year and transforming it into a defense performing the worst in franchise history with the exact same players as last year (plus Christian Gonzalez!) against a pretty low strength of schedule is indefensible.
It's not the exact same players but I get your point. Even with what they have they shouldn't have dropped down so much.

Who is missing besides Bentley, and I guess Uche if you want to count him?

Steel yourselves for RKK to go with his gut...again.

Kraft is 83 and doesn’t have all of his head. It’s pretty clear at this point.

Kraft continues to burn this organization down.

It’s not gonna be funny when after the month of September next year Mayo will still be a disaster. Mayo will be fired mid season next year. The Kraft will look dumber than now and there will no good HC on the market and it will leave this team in the gutter

I'm not terribly concerned tbh. Next year always made the most sense. Give Wolf another off season to see if he can build the roster. If he does, you can evaluate a second year Mayo with a real team. If Mayo fails you can let him go and you will be a more attractive landing spot letting people know you'll at least give the coach a chance and presumably have a better roster for the new coach to build off of.

If Wolf can't add to the roster, then you clean house and let a new coach come in with all of his guys and sell them on the idea that they can do whatever they want and have a few years of freedom.

I don’t believe anything I read til black Monday comes and passes.
If we get embarrassed the next 3 games if players continue to be insubordinate.
If Mayo makes mistakes on the field or in the media by saying something he will regret he will be gone.

If Mayo wins one of the games and keeps it close in the the other 2 or even loses out but keeps 2 out of 3 close he will be back.

I am praying for a New d coordinator and a Josh McDaniels type offensive mind if not Josh himself to replace AVP as play caller.

I don’t think I’ve seen someone get such a important job without any resume to earn it and hasn’t shown anything since week 1 to demonstrate the gamble could pay off.

It Mayo was hired cause he’s a leader of men he’s done a terrible job of it thus far and I’m just shocked.

We got Scrooge Mcduck controlling the cash output l, the toxic HC the inexperienced over their head ass coaches, high taxes we aren’t a nice weather location and just last year rated F on families and player benefits and satisfaction levels.

Doesn’t matter if Maye can throw the ball 100 yds on a dime we aren’t winning any big name free agents without massive overpays.

It all sounds OK, but why not make the switch now? There are lots of GM guys and Wolf completely failed last season. I don't want Wolf spending $140M. His contracts last year were awful. So we roll the cap dollars over to 2026? It never ends. Let's get a professional GM now.

Because if we are going to clean house, I'd rather they let a new GM and coach come in together. I don't want to hamper a new HC with a GM we just hired.

Why not? People change jobs and work together all the time. Millions of times a year. Execs commonly work things out. Look at Washington who hired a new GM and HC this year. They were 4 - 13 last year and now they are 9 - 5. We were 4 - 13 last year and now we are 3 - 11, and I think we got the better rookie QB.

If what you are saying is true, Mayo would never have been hired never been guaranteed the job as part of his last contract (speculation, but it doesn't matter) or hired as HC. Word is Jonathan didn't want Mayo. There is no way Wolf said, "Mayo is the guy." And if he consulted Robin on football matters, that just proves Robert shouldn't be making decisions. So, I am forced to conclude that Mayo took advantage of an elderly, impaired man to weasel his way into the job by endearing himself to the old man, and there is evidence for that. Scammers target the elderly because they are easy marks. It doesn't take a genius to scam an old man, it just someone who can identify soft spots, and Mayo found Kraft's.
Jonathan, the time has come to take the car keys away from Dad.

He won’t like it, but you have to do it.

Everyone reporting he’s going to comeback but making sure to add the “if things don’t go off the rail” caveat is interesting.

Between that and the Tankathon, it’s as if they want their own fans to root against them.
For the second time ever and it was last years Draft status and now this year I am rooting for a dumpster fire.
As long as Maye and Gonzalez come out healthy.
Now the fan side who wants to win wants to see Baker and Polk light it up as well as our rookie tight end name escapes me,
We need to get these 3 guys involved In the passing game to see if we have any good young pass catchers or do we burn it all next season, regardless of who is lighting the match.

I remember Bill was taking some heat going into 2001 after an extremely disappointing 2000 season. He had stripped the roster down even further after the 1999 season and the draft/FA signings didn’t help. The long debated theories became true that Bill would’ve been fired after the 2001 season had they not turned it around.

The difference between Belichick and Mayo was that Bill was a highly qualified coach with high expectations. Mayo on the other hand, is just not qualified at all and showing incompetence on a weekly basis. I’ve never seen a NFL HC look this bad since I’ve been watching football in the early 90’s.

This is why the Pats on the verge of becoming the Begals. Ownership loved Marvin Lewis who sucked but they kept brining him back, year after year. Wasn't a very good coach but that didn't really matter. And they won jack.

Thats the scary part of this. Kraft has no idea what he is doing anymore. None. Even when he talks you realize he doesn't have it anymore.

Because I'd rather they come in with a unified vision and synergy and not forcing someone on the other person. If Wolf sucks again but we keep him, I don't want him dissuading new coaches. Same for the new guy if we fire him. Let two guys with a similar vision come in and execute together.

Sad thing is Marvin Lewis had 20+ years of coaching LBs and being DC before he rose to HC. He was bad but he was infinitely more qualified than Mayo.

It’s much worse than becoming the Bengals. Marvin Lewis could coach circles around our “CEO” coach Mayo, who thinks CEO means “If I do nothing except throw flowers at Thunder & throw everyone else under the bus, I can collect a $4M paycheck every year until the dumb bastard breathes his last breath”.

Agree. As I've said before, Marvin Lewis was the greatest mediocre coach in NFL history, with a sixteen-year resume and a record slightly above .500. Mayo should aspire to such an achievement.

I never thought Marvin was bad, just mediocre.
