I only care about what the NEP have and they will offer him the max.. they offered the house to Aiyuk on a year deal. They will offer the same to Higgins.
You are the one arguing that having the most cap room gives us as advantage.
Aiyuk was a marketing ploy, don’t believe they really would have paid that.

Nicknames Thunder would enjoy if any accepted the job offer (at below market rates)
I honestly think it was about DEI and caring about the players personal lives and all the stuff Mayo talks about instead of real football stuff

I wasn't arguing anything I said we have the most to offer him and they likely will throw the $$$ at him during the legal tampering period.

Aiyuk, Ridley are 2. Which really good FAs wanted to sign with the Pats?
Aiyuk is not one. Aiyuk refused to go to the Browns and Steelers as well. Aiyuk never had any plans to leave the 49ers. Aiyuk resigned in a sitaution with higher taxes. It is only one guy - Ridley.

I never said that really good FAs wanted to sign with the Pats - not sure why you are asking that question. The Pats are probably not a "premier destination" but the statement that FAs turned down the Pats is conjecture as far as I can tell. I never understand how these ideas start and take hold. Another one is that Matty P was a lousy offensive coordinator. Yes he was, but BOB and AVP have been worse.

Every team overpays for FAs. That is what happens in FA. Not sure why that stinks, it is a fair way for the FAs to get the most they can. Paying the players is OK with me, it is a tough sport and they earned it.
ok, its awesome that we have to overpay free agents instead of paying our own guys less.

I hope we sign FAs where we have existing holes. Higgins at WR - we have no WRs to re-up. A FA at free safety - we do not have a FS to be resigned. A FA at LT, we don't have a LT to re-up. We also took care of our FAs last year including early deals for Barmore and Stevenson.

You responded to “there are 30 other teams@ by saying who can give him more because we have the most cap room. Any team with enough can. How much more you have overcame above enough is irrelevant.

Seriously we have to upgrade:
WR 1
WR 2
probably wr 4
LT
RT
OT3
LG
C
OG 3
DT2
DE
OLB x 2
ILB
CB 2
CB 4
S3
S4

Ok I clearly showed you the Patriots are the team with the most cap space. What does that mean? You know what forget about it. Your right.

Basically everything except QB and RB.

To be fair some of the depth holes fill when we get an adequate starter the previous starter gets pushed down the depth chart.

Not sure how many starters would even make good backups.

Unfortunately, until/if Bill ever writes a book, we'll never know for sure.
With THAT being said, it kinda leans that way.
And the Bologna Sandwiches gives us a lead if that's true...
40M sitting in the kitty right now, and team is a fkn disaster..

There were reports last week that these OC candidates were surprised the interviews weren’t more about football issues. Not sure what they were about
How well the candidates could schmooze in airport departure lounges, perhaps? Or more likely, what techniques would they use to support their HC during airport departure lounge conversations…

It seems that we SHOULD be able to announce agreements with a top WR, a top LT and a top safety, all before the legal tampering period is over.

Presuming that AVP is staying, I think that the team would then be a place where players might find attractive, especially with a franchise QB in place.

We could use a running back too.
