Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

I think it likely depends on some factors. If Vrabel thinks he can work with Wolf and they can come up with a solution where Vrabel has some level of personnel power alongside Wolf then maybe they retain Wolf.

I don’t think Wolf has been amazing but it’s much harder to judge his work drafting in 1 year, and also considering the terrible coaching his draft picks have received. And at least he knows how to handle a damn press conference.
I still don’t hate a lot of the moves Wolf made this offseason retaining guys on incentive deals. Also thought the Judon trade ended up being a really smart move.

He’s been far from perfect, but I think he’s far from being the biggest problem here. Remember that Mayo was not his choice.

“I’m not blaming the players…but it is their fault!”

It’s not encouraging they are still letting him make statements.
Come on Krafts I’m looking at you Jonathan end it.

This guy as absolutely no self awareness

A veteran play who stupidly celebrated a sack on an obvious horse collar.

Sort of the symbol of the problem (what happened on the play - not the player).

Kendrick Bourne also celebrating a catch late in the game down 20 like he just clinched a game winner.

Actually.....an impending free agent kissing up to the teflon HC

You’re whitewashing history. This is a franchise which for years was the joke of the NFL.

Get back to us when Robert Kraft goes bankrupt because he spent all his money on the latest pop superstar's worldwide tour.
Uh huh. Sure: that's relevant. /s

As for the joke status, we are pretty much there. Enjoy.

I don’t think I can eat lunch today this Mayo backing is making me sick,
What do you want Maye to do in front of the camera throw him under the bus?

I agree. At the time, re-signing Barmore, Onwenu, Dugger, and Peppers seemed like smart moves, but between health issues for Barmore, legal issues for Peppers, and poor coaching or whatever it is with Dugger and Onwenu, they don't look like good deals at the moment. There is a solid chance that with a better scheme and coaching, they can get those guys to regain their prior form, but with this current staff, who knows?

Re-signing Henry and swapping Gesicki for Hooper were both positives, and Kendrick Bourne's deal gave them an out this offseason, which I would assume they exercise. Antonio Gibson (when the coaching staff actually gives him touches) is an upgrade over Zeke.

Some of the other free agent signings like Okoafor, Osborne, and Takiaki were busts, but at least they were cheap mistakes. The draft definitely looks abysmal right now outside of Maye, so Wolf really needs to get some immediate difference-makers this next draft and keep his fingers crossed that at least one of the other picks from this year develops in year two. Getting a third for Judon looks like a steal, and picking up anything for nobodies like Mac Jones and Josh Uche (who has been a healthy scratch in back-to-back weeks in KC) at least gives Wolf a little more ammunition to move around in the mid-rounds next April.

It is hard to judge Wolf based on the circumstances. This roster had so many holes coming into this season, and while it may be a very important position, the only one Wolf looks to have upgraded was quarterback. With that being said, I don’t think the coaching staff in its current iteration is capable of putting the players Wolf picked in position to succeed and develop. If we get through spring and we don't address the offensive line situation with significant investments then I will be out on Wolf altogether. Offensive line is top priority followed by a legitimate #1 receiver. They have the draft capital and they have the money. Wolf should be doing everything under the sun to build around Drake Maye and support him by any means necessary.

It's almost as if he's begging Bob to schitt-can him.
"Here's reason #217, I dare you"

Looks like there is a call in the locker room to rally around Mayo.

As QB coach maybe. But that’s the only part of his job he’s done okay.

As OC he owns the state of our OL. ‘Nuff said.
Wolf (even though he inherited them) owns the ****ty o-line and ****ty WR rooms. He took over a team with the worst o-line and WRs in the league and did nothing to improve them. Botched the draft picks and nothing from FA.

AVP may not be a great OC, but he’s trying to make chicken salad out of chicken ****.

"I'm not going to talk about specific players" then immediately names a specific player.
