Not saying I agree with it but I still don’t think Mayo is getting fired, especially during the season

If the Bills are forced to play their starters in the last game, the Patriots could be looking at losing 4 straight blow out games, 2 of which could get bad. Like 55 to 14 bad.

Mayo probably won't get fired but his time here would already be sealed.

While I’d like to see Mayo gone, I’m guessing the most experienced coach that has been a HC is Ben McAdoo. This isn’t saying much as he’s only been a HC for two years.
McAdoo is perfectly fine for 2 or 3 games. Although he seems to have had very little presence with the team so I tend to doubt he would be tapped.

If I were to guess I would say Jeremy Springer would be the interim guy to take over for a couple games with McAdoo advising. Springer has done a good job, gets buy-in from his guys and probably has a decent shot of sticking with a new regime. New HCs often retain the existing ST coach.

Even if he doesn’t stick, it would be good to do him the favor of raising his visibility a little as he doesn’t deserve to be fired.

Goddell and his cronies really want to see the Patriots get beaten , it makes no sense to put this on national TV.
Yeah, it doesn't make a ton of sense for the Patriots as a team. However, it does make sense for showcasing Drake Maye, who seemingly makes highlight-reel worthy plays every single week, and arguably has a nominee for play of the year..

What does this TV decision have to do with the patriots?

BUF is competing for the top seed and is the only AFC team available with any playoff interest. And, yes, folks will want to see BF play, and perhaps a few might even want to see Maye.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume the network is interested in showcasing Josh Allen.

A week or so ago my wife said she wanted to go to some play or something this weekend.

I looked at the schedule, saw our game was at 1PM, and gave her the go-ahead to get tickets for the 5PM show.

Now we're at 4:25.

Oh well. I think it won't be pretty, anyway. The game, not the play.
