Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

I think we went from no chance he gets fired, to it being very possible in span of a day. That’s how disastrous yesterday was for Mayo. From the lack of preparation after a bye week, to the Krafts publicly showing their disdain, to now throwing coaches under the bus. It was a bad day in the office for Mayo.

The biggest indicator that now there’s a real chance is Albert Breer had quite the 180 on it all of the sudden. If you follow Breer enough, he’s a good reporter but he clearly carries the Kraft’s water. For the longest time he was preaching patience with Mayo, saying there’s no chance they get rid of him, that they see something special in him, etc etc. and now suddenly…

B for the win.

But I want Robert far away from this decision and to hire a independent firm or Scott Pioli or John Gruden as a advisor.
I'd like a committee of Edelman, Rodney, and Pioli. You've got the perspective of the offense, defense, and front office from three perspicacious guys.

Option A:
Keep Jerod, fire AVP, bring in some random ass underqualified OC nobody wants, nothing improves and they fire everyone after 2025, and Maye ends up with his 3rd OC in 3 years in 2026

Option B:
Just fire the whole staff now and bring in a competent HC who will be able to get a competent OC (if the HC is not the playcaller himself) and then Maye probably gets more stability going forward
B without thinking twice.

Every answer that contains « Fire Mayo » is the right one

Yup. Mayo could have had the exact same coaching performance and if he just had a script for interviews he'd be fine for this year.

If you want to get the pulse on it, look at Curran. He has a line to Kraft. The more down Curran is, the worse it gets for Mayo

Breer of all people coming out and saying Mayo is now suddenly on the hot seat is definitely a big change. “I haven’t heard a comment like that from a head coach in 20 years”. Not a good look.

I am hoping he’s changed his tune because the Krafts have changed their tune.

Breer may be a leading indicator on where to expect Curran to go.

I think what some folks have speculated and now is echoed by Albert Breer - if they really love Vrabel this is their only chance. He won’t be available in 2026. They can’t keep Jerod 1 more year and pivot to Vrabel after that if it doesn’t work out, Vrabel will be long gone.

Yeah.

I think it's ****ing hilarious though that it took all this to do what we should have done in the first place, which was clean house.
And, realistically, "all this" may not yet be enough. I'm hoping BUF can put up 50+.

Curran looked absolutely dejected in the post game show. Looked like a guy who keeps seeing his friend relapsing over and over again.

Right, but part of the decision is if they fire Mayo and bring someone who demands GM say, then they're firing Wolf, too. Do we really think Kraft has come to the decision on Wolf, too?

That’s the sad part for me. I’m sitting here rooting for the losses to be bad enough that the Krafts will have no choice but to make major changes.

I’m rooting for Maye and Gonzales to not regress or get hurt, but other than them, I’m hoping it’s a dumpster fire.

This is the Krafts doing damage control, this may not be a Mayo firing this maybe the team holding hands in circles and doing trust falls.
It could also be a come to Jesus meeting. I think Kraft is going to give Mayo every chance he can and he might be pulling him aside to stop the bleeding and telling him "dude you are ****ing up, you are losing, the team is doing horrible and it looks undisciplined and you are making it worse with all your issues in the press adding more attention to you. You are on the hotseat so course correct now".

Odd times in New England

Wolf has just been just as bad as Mayo at his job. Neither of them deserve any grace.
Wolf has two saving graces right now.

1. He drafted Maye.

2. We don't know how much control he had prior to this year, so there could be the assumption that this is only strike one.

He's also never in the media so he isn't drawing much attention to himself.
